    Hello,

Next week Thursday I will be in Boulder for the night and then on Sunday I'll be in Fort Collins for the night. While I'm there, I'd like to visit a few different breweries and bars, beer places, etc. I need some assistance! I should mention that I'll be driving, not flying.

I've been to both cities before and the only breweries I visited were Avery and New Belgium. I may stop in Denver before I head to Boulder, but then again I may not. I'm looking to visit breweries during the day and then find some good watering holes toward the evenings.

    Places I've considered thus far:

Boulder: Twisted Pine, Avery (again). Potentially Dry Dock and Crooked Stave (if the event that I do stop in the Denver area)

    Fort Collins: Funkwerks, Odell.

I've heard about some Mayor bar in Boulder that I planned on stopping by, but all other comments are welcome. As for liquor stores, I guess I'm not really interested in buying a ton of shelf stuff but would be more interested in picking up growlers from these small microbreweries. Remember, I'll only in Boulder and Fort Collins for one night, so if you could suggest some places that are musts! please let me know. Thanks!

In Ft. Collins, almost all of the breweries are worth stopping into, although you named my two favorites in Odell and Funkwerks. FCB is right in between those two (and would be next behind those and New Belgium) so that's an easy stop.

One you might not know is actually on your way up to Ft. Collins - Grimm Brothers. They're in Loveland, and not far off the beaten path although finding them can be a little tricky. Grimm specializes in German styles, although they have a mean barleywine and some other UK style beers, too.

In Fort Collins you can pretty much just rent a bike and go from brewery to brewery, and hit them all. We also hit up Left Hand and Oskar Blues in Longmont, since we were staying with a friend there. Great area for beer!

Would definitely hit Avery, Oskar Blues, and Odell.

If you're in Denver, make sure you get to falling rock in LoDo.

    In Fort Collins....

Definitely Odell and Funkwerks; same street as each other, just a couple blocks apart.. Equinox, Pateros Creek, Fort Collins Brewery, New Belgium, Coopersmith are some other breweries to consider that are all close. Coopersmith, IMO, I'd put last on your to do list. Given your time constraint, I'd skip that one.

Mayor Of Old Town has a fantastic beer selection. Tap N Handle is another bar with a very nice beer selection and is I like the vibe there better. Choice City Butchery offers good food and a nice beer selection. It is also right across the street from Tap N Handle.

    Hey Joshua,
Awesome you will be in town. Dry Dock is in Aurora and pretty far from Boulder IMO. Also the Mayor of old town is in Fort Collins.. Back Country Pizza in Boulder also has a very nice selection.. I also Like Asher, Upslope in Boulder.

As you know Avery doesn't do Growlers. I would hit Longmont. It's about 20 minutes from Boulder and on the way to Fort Collins. Oskar blues home made and solids and tasty weasel are great as is Left hand.. Pretty sure the rest fill growlers. I know Left hand, tasty weasel, Asher, Odell, New Belgium.

breweries: Odell (open on Sunday??), Funkwerks and Equinox
bars: Mayor of Old Town (100 taps and good food), Choice City (great beer and great food) and Tap & Handle (happy hour all day on Sunday!!)
Next Saturday we have Tour de Fat going on which is craziness with over 6,000 people in costumes ready tricked out bikes! Lot of drinking going down, so Sunday might be bettter anyway!

    In Boulder:
Upslope is definitely worth your time. I would skip Asher since your time is limited, and this is coming from someone who lives right next to Asher.

Mountain Sun is worth a stop for their well priced food along with the beer.
