Not sure why the last one was shut down but figured I'd start another one. Got a chance to visit this past weekend for the first time. Got there a little too early (11 am) and ended up at the front of the line which was cool. It was a beautiful day and had some nice conversation. First impression is that its a cool space but they have to work out more than just one points of sale. I was glad i was in the front because I imagine the line just crawls. I didn't try anything on draft as it was a little too early for me to get drinking. Got 2 4-packs of the Elusive IPA and 1 4-pack of the Frame lines. I was a bit disappointed with the Frame Lines, a bit of that hop burn that I've experienced with Trillium at times. Nothing that really stood out with that beer. The Elusive IPA was much better, juicy with a nice bitterness. It's an above average NEIPA, hazy, juicy, etc. You're all familiar with the style and don't expect anything out of the ordinary. I'll definitely be visiting again but perhaps later in the afternoon to enjoy a draft or two and to grab a 4-pack with minimal wait. The fact that its 10 minutes away from me is a bonus. Recommended!

Awesome addition to the South Shore. I've showed up most weeks between 4 and 5 and have had basically zero wait for pours. No idea what they plan on doing during the nicer weather, but with the garage doors and plenty of outside space, could be a great summer spot.

I'm excited to have another place to check out this summer when I'm in the area, for sure.

But in keeping with the other brewery threads, this one should be titled "Vitamin Sea Brewing (2019)"

The hop burn is an epidemic in the NEIPA scene. Now that we're at the point were everyone knows how to make their beers thick and juicy, the question is can you also make that beer balanced and pleasant to drink at the same time. Other Half to me is the worst hop burn offender. Their beers can taste like you're drinking battery acid sometimes. These days it takes a lot for a NEIPA to really impress me.

The burn of Frame Lines was pretty harsh for me. Triggered PTSD from trilly Never & Again.

Anxiously awaiting the first canning of Seven Bells, I saved a can I got last April to celebrate their grand opening and cracked it that weekend - still drinking phenomenal, amazing coffee flavor with plenty of body - it's like a sessionable PM Dawn at only 5% but doesn't sacrifice any flavor or mouthfeel.

My three favorite beers I’ve tried from them have been on tap and not yet in cans. Deadly Venoms, Due North and Just Another T Shirt Shop.

This isn't really answering my question. If going by social media numbers alone TH would have blown them out of the water.

I agree, it is pretty funny they beat out TH (who beat out HF).

The difference is Vitamin Sea asked people to vote, many, many times. On their Instagram alone I count 7 posts about it. Tree House and others didn't mention it or ask for votes even once.

I like VSB, a lot, and enjoy their beers. They won because they begged for votes all over social media. You could vote as many times as you wanted, and that is what their fans did.

HF, TH, Trill could care less about this contest. They never posted anything about it on their social media.

I look at it this way....It is a nice marketing freebie for VSB to help as they grow.

This would make sense. However its almost as if them winning the bracket makes it less legitimate. If they made it all the way to the end and then lost to TH I think it would have made the competition more realistic and still a good boost for them making it so far and losing to a titan.

I think you are seriously underselling the value of social media marketing in today's landscape. Even the "grail" brewers whose product sustains a pretty low marketing spend at least have a social media presence. It's just how business gets done today.
