What's everyone's take on these guys now that the original hype has died down? I haven't been in maybe a year, but will be right by the area today and thinking about stopping in. Anything I should seek out?
I don't really have specifics to share, but I think they make terrific IPAs, as good as anything you'll find out there in my opinion. I especially like how they tend to be lower in ABV. I'd drink them more often if they were easier to come by.
Just seeing this, but I have NEVER regretted any purchases from Vitamin Sea, besides a few TIPAs. Those higher ABVs tend to be on the too-sweet side, and in fact their lower ABV options are among the best hoppy ales anywhere. Still not quite there with the imperial stout bottles I've had (would rather go to other places for that style), but the fruited sours are really improving. But all in all, you should feel very confident buying any single IPAs from there.
This thread popped up at a great time. My BIL from Quincy serendipitously offered to grab me some cans while he was there. I was surprised at how many cans they have available these days. Gotta love it. Side note: According to Untappd they've already made 470 different beers!? I got some Dank is the New Juicy, Who Moved My Cones, House Money and Hardly Knew Ya They were all quite enjoyable. Mouthfeel is on point. Good carb and while they share a common house yeast taste, they all have some discernible hop character. Hardly Knew Ya has two hops I never tried, BRU-1 and Grungeist. I think I enjoyed it the most out of all of them.
