"VOODOO BREWERY BARREL ROOM COLLECTION RELEASE III- THAT ONE TIME VOODOO DID A RELEASE WITHOUT ANY STOUTS

We are very pleased to announce today that we have scheduled our third Barrel Room Collection Release for Saturday March 14, 2015. Curt has been working hard since the last release to bring you 4 brand new beers to add to our collection, all aged 14+ months in the barrel. They are as follows:

Old Jive Turkey- 10% ABV - 22oz, $20- Limit 2- A traditional Old Ale aged in Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrels.

Bourmuda Triangle IPA- 10.1% ABV - 22oz $21- Limit 2- Imperial West Coast-style IPA 50% aged in Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrels, 25% in Caribbean Rum Barrels, 25% in Extra Anejo Tequila Barrels. Blended once removed from the barrels and double dry hopped with Apollo, Galaxy and Simcoe. Make no mistake about it, this is an IPA through and through, not just a hopped up barleywine. We're working our hardest to bottle this as close to the release as humanly possible, so please, DO NOT AGE- DRINK FRESH!!

Taco Flavored Kisses- 11.2% ABV - 22oz $20- Limit 2- Wheatwine brewed with organic blue weber agave nectar and aged in Extra Anejo Tequila Barrels.

Blackbeard's Delight- 12% ABV- 22oz $21- Limit 2- Imperial Brown Ale brewed with blackstrap molasses and aged in Caribbean Rum Barrels with locally roasted coffee, cocoa nibs, and Madagascar vanilla beans.

Please read the following very carefully:

As we have said all along, we will sell the beer once it is ready. This presents a problem as the weather is still very cold and highly unpredictable in Meadville in March as we saw in 2013. For this reason, we will be conducting this release differently than we have in the past. Starting today, February 12 at 3pm, we will begin taking sign ups at the MEADVILLE PUB ONLY DURING NORMAL PUB BUSINESS HOURS ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS. We have a total of 260 allotments available, all bottles will be sold as a full 8 bottle set only at $164 only. We will only take as many sign ups as we have allotments, there will not be a waiting list of any sort. A valid drivers license or government issued identification card is required to sign up. You must physically be here in person with your valid ID to sign up- your friend can't bring IDs for 5 friends and sign you all up. No exceptions. Full payment is required to sign up, cash and credit cards are accepted. When bottles are released on 3.14.15, each person will again need to physically show up in person with your ID to claim your bottles. All bottles must be picked up by Saturday 3.28.15. The person who signed up in person must also pick up in person, no exceptions. We hope we have made how this process will work very clear. If, after reviewing this information, you still have questions, please email [email protected] ONLY. As you can imagine, this is a very busy time for us, so please, do not call either of the pubs or send facebook messages. We will keep our facebook page updated in terms of where we are with sign up numbers throughout the day. PLEASE BE CURTEOUS TO OUR NEIGHBORS AND DO NOT PARK IN UNAUTHORIZED AREAS (POST OFFICE, ORTHODONTIST/UNIVERSAL OIL, RITE AID).WE HAVE INSTRUCTED THEM TO TOW ANY UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES. There is ample parking on the street and between the two parking structures. We look forward to seeing you all soon and having a beer or two with you! As always, there will be a great tap list put together for 3.14.15 to celebrate the occasion! Stay tuned for more details on the draft lists as we get closer to the release date. Rest assured that Curt has already begun filling barrels for Barrel Room Collection Release IV with some new and exciting beers and an old favorite or two."

Not sure how I feel about having to buy a whole allotment. I personally would not want to buy 2 bottles of a BA IPA; that could just be me, though.

Meh.... Two separate 9-hour round trips doesn't sound very appealing (IF I would even make it in time to buy an allotment). I believe I will be sitting this one out. The only thing that makes me want to go to the release is the previous BA beers they'll probably have on tap.

I already made my girlfriend commit to going to this release this year. Maybe I'll parlay that promise into a Vermont road trip instead; one less hour of driving time to HF and back! Haha

Good luck and enjoy to those that are lucky enough to attend!

I 100% get your point, but we're talking about a pretty well-known brewery with a good reputation, and a limited release. Unless it's terrible do you really anticipate having that much trouble trading it away $4$?

I would not anticipate that at all, but spending $42 just to trade them isn't appealing to me. Your mileage may vary.

Wow...I won't be able to get there until way later tonight...10-11 or so. I wonder if it's even worth trying to make that happen?

Go for it. At the very least you can enjoy a glass of AB GNVP when you get there!

I love reading the comments from some of the people that can't make it, making lame excuses on other BA threads "These beers probably won't be that good" or "yeah they just don't appeal to me this time, what a let down" .... HAHA hilarious because these are probably the same people who would have their tent set up first had the announcement given lead time. And don't try and knock a brewery that has consistently made some off the charts barrel aged beers. "I'll get Gratitude since it's better blah blah" ... no no it's definitely not going to be better. Voodoo is legit!

Wouldn't be ideal, certainly, so if it's a style I'm unsure about I'd make sure to open one with others, rather than alone, but I'd be unlikely to trade away both.

In terms of buying anything specifically to trade, everything you trade away was at some point purchased, whether you had the trade in mind at the time of the purchase, or not, seems somewhat irrelevant once it's in a box; and since it's something limited and will fetch offers for other limited beer (even assuming a $4$ trade) it has value to me above the retail cost as it aided me in acquiring something I wanted but would not have been able to get as easily without it.

There are two points though where my mileage does not vary; the first being that $41 is a big number to have tied up until a trade is found, and it's definitely a gamble that the product is sub-par and you end up losing some of its value (eg sending it as an extra). My gut tells me that it will have enough demand even if it isn't the greatest thing ever that neither of these issues are likely to be problematic, but I admit they certainly are worth considering.

Keeping in mind, my first comment was that I 100% get where you're coming from; my points since are as much devil's advocate as disagreement.

Derp. No one in that thread said that Gratitude was better. I said they made my decision easy because it's not feasible for me to get to Meadville in time to sign up. No one said anything about Voodoo not being legit either, they're awesome.

I'm sure I was one of those people that you're referring to, but my comments were born out of legitimate opinion of the beer styles. I sure as shit wouldnt be overnighting in the cold for them either. This method would have actually been easier for me to do.

    Derp indeed.
