VOODOO BREWERY BARREL ROOM COLLECTION V

The employee owners of Voodoo Brewery are very pleased to announce today that we have scheduled our Barrel Room Collection Release V for Saturday March 11, 2017 with bottle pre-sales beginning today, Monday February 20, 2017 at all 3 of our pub locations in Meadville, Erie and Homestead. Curt has been working hard since the last release to bring you 5 brand new beers to add to our collection, all aged 20+ months in the barrel. They are as follows:

Quadfather aged in Bourbon Barrels (22oz)- This special batch of our Belgian Quadruple was aged in a menagerie of four different bourbon barrels for 20 months and blended together to perfection. Blending Old Forrester, Heaven Hill, Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace barrels together yielded an incredibly complex, layered beer rich in Belgian esters, oak, leather, dark fruits and bourbon.

Tenacious Wee aged in Bourbon Barrels (22oz)- A longtime cult favorite and one of Curt’s personal favorites makes its return aged 20 months in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels. This Wee Heavy showcases a complex malt backbone along with strong caramel notes and barrel character.

Imperial Breakfast Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels (22oz)- IBS is our imperialized version of our Breakfast of Champions aged 20 months in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels. Brewed with copious amounts of dark and roasted malts, this is liquid breakfast in your mug- we used an insane amount of locally roasted coffee, Ghanaian cocoa nibs, and local maple syrup rounded by oak and packing a bourbon punch to deliver a beer fitting to start your day off with. You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning, right?

Black Magick aged in Bourbon Barrels- Green Wax (12oz)- The first of two Black Magick barrel treatments for BRC V spent 20 months maturing in Old Forrester bourbon barrels. Our big, bold Russian Imperial stout expresses rich notes of vanilla, fudge, toasted oak and spirit.

Black Magick aged in Bourbon Barrels- Blue Wax (12oz)- We couldn’t turn down some super fresh barrels, even if we had already done this barrel treatment before. This time around though, Curt decided to age this second batch of Buffalo Trace Black Magick six months longer than the first batch released back in 2013 to explore the depth of character that could be amassed. This second batch spent 24 months aging gracefully in American oak bourbon barrels resulting in complex layers of coconut, leather, baker’s chocolate, wood and bourbon.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY:
Due to highly uneven bottle yields, there will be a total of 5 different allotments available:

All three locations will open at 3pm today, Monday February 20 and all three locations will pull from the same total number of allotments per each allotment. This means that it may be possible for one of the three locations to sell significantly more allotments than the other two locations based on demand. Allotments will also be sold in order from Full Allotment to Partial Allotment D ONLY. This means once all 266 Full Allotments are sold between the three locations, we will begin selling Partial Allotment A. Once all 15 Partial Allotment As are sold, we will begin selling Partial Allotment B and so on

We will only take as many sign ups as we have allotments, there will not be a waiting list of any sort. A valid photo driver’s license or government issued identification card or passport is required to sign up, strict limit of one allotment of any kind per person. You must physically be here in person with your valid photo ID to sign up- your friend can't bring IDs for 5 friends and sign you all up. No exceptions. Full payment is required to sign up, cash and credit cards are accepted. When bottles are released on 3.11.17, each person will again need to physically show up in person with your ID to claim your bottles. All bottles must be picked up by Sunday 3.26.17. The person who signed up in person must also pick up in person, no exceptions.

The Firkin of Imperial Breakfast Of Champions on Madagascar Vanilla Beans from August of 2015 was 12.1%. The beer from that firkin was from the batch that was put in Bourbon Barrels.

I will be near the Meadville location (Pittsburgh) the weekend after this (3/17). What is the likelihood of there being any left to buy?

You had to pre-buy (in person) yesterday. They sold out last night, after being on sale for about 7 hours.

    Bottles - 0%
Draft - slightly above 0% depending if the kegs they put on tap are larger than a sixtel.

They did. But that was prior to them having both the homestead and erie locations. When it was only the meadville pub they did a couple events in Pitt and Philly. Now, I would not anticipate seeing these served anywhere other than the 3 Voodoo establishments. Not trying to crush dreams, just leveling expectations.

Edit... well now that I think more about it, there might be a few exceptions like the Mikkeller Copenhagen beer festival they were invited to. Maybe they will go big to that?
