Its pretty neat. However, I do not understand the Matilda vs Amber pairing at all

do any chicago-area brewers make anything similar to matilda? struggling to think of another well-knownish belgian pale from this area.

Revolution's newly-canned A Little Crazy is pretty close.

Matilda is made with Brett which separates it from A Little Crazy. But yeah, not much else around here similar. Maybe something from Jolly Pumpkin is closer...Baudelaire IO, but that's a saison with rose hips. So not quite.

fresh though you don't get a whole lot of brett character. so it's about as close as you're gonna get i guess.

agreed. Most of the first round for me were pretty easy to vote for. the only exception being Juliet for La Roja. I love each in their own way.

I did as well. Its a bit more refined. But I do love the rustic farmhouse qualities of La Roja, which makes my refined comment hypocritical. Bah!

Bitter Biker vs Cross of Gold doesn't make much sense either. Bitter Biker should have been vs NvU, but whatever.

begyle's entry wasn't very good anyway (loaded with DMS). i also hate gumballhead's awful medicine taste, so it's really a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation.

I haven't tried cash Landed yet. I have a bomber of it at home though. I've liked most of the other ones from Begyle that I've tried so far. I really dislike Gumball. It has an aftertaste for me that just kills my taste buds.

They just seem to be setting up these brackets somewhat arbitrarily. I mean, I know it's just a stupid poll on a website, but they could put a bit of research into it.
