I will be going to Montreal next week and am looking for more info on these guys....do they have a tasting room? If not is there a reliable place that you can get their IPA cans? Thanks for the help!
Unfortunately they don't have a tasting room yet. As for their cans you should be able to find them without too much trouble at most of Montréal better beer shops (Peluso, Veux-tu Une bière, etc.).
It's not hard to find Vox Pop cans in general, but if you specifically want the IPA then it might be a little tricky. Is there a batch coming out soon? If so, you'll find it in reasonable quantities at the good beer stores. But it typically only lasts for a couple of days. Gotta say, I think Vox Pop is a pretty solid brewery - everything of their that I've tried has been either pretty good or very good.
You should definitely try the IXPL from Maltstrom. It's the best available hoppy beer from Québec at the moment.
My understanding is they are contract brewing at Oshlag Brasserie and Distillerie of which Glutenberg is the parent company.
Ive noticed that some beers, especially Vox Pop will sell out in the good beer stores mentioned above, but then you can find them in grocery stores or regular deps days or even weeks later. Vox Pop seems to get pretty widely distributed, even if its small quantities per store, so sometimes it pays to stop into a random IGA to see what they're holding
