    ...just kidding...

...though I wanted us out here to also have a forum to complain/react/discuss about how expensive/limited/sold out KBS is in Washington like all the other BA forums with Founders distribution.

For the record, it is delicious this year, and with Founders' ever expanding distribution footprint, supplies seem to be spread thin in markets back east.

I am staking out the bottleshops in PDX waiting for it to come in. I hope I don't have to wait too much longer.

I have had my camper parked in the Wal-Mart in Tulalip for the past week...everytime a truck rolls in with a delivery I run over and ask the driver if he has any on board...so far no luck but I will let you guys know when it comes in...

we do. this is a common mistake people make, but one that is easy to understand. since founders beers sell out so quick, they are rarely, if ever put onto store shelves.

According to their website, Founders is not distributed in the NW. That being said, I guess it's still fair to say it's "available," in the same way that Cigar City is available in Oregon, as the occasional stray keg will sometimes show up at some specail event.

However, anyone waiting at the local Wal-mart in Tulalip for 4 packs of KBS is likely in for a very long wait.

So one of those secret stock in the back things.

Founders needs to come out here!

But according to quantum mechanics it could tunnel through time / space and just ... show up. I'm checking my refrigerator periodically to see if it's arrived. If it does I'll be pouring 1 oz shots for $10 each.

it really does. as a recent transplant to seattle from DC, i'm seriously missing the constant supply of great founders beers. it was my go-to for the four years i lived there. and while there are plenty more options out in Seattle, I haven't found that go-to brewery where I can trust whatever I get from them. that said, it's nice to be outside the madness and craze that the east coast has for good beer.

exactly. had breakfast stout, and was really excited. what a freaking let down.

as a beer that would be available at stores year round, I would say it is solid. But put it up against Parabola, Ten Fidy, Black Tuesday, SUper Nebula and its not even in the same universe.

FBS is so much better than Ten Fidy, and of course it's not as good as the best bourbon barreled stouts out there. What shelf coffee stout in the PNW are you going to compare it to?

it's a $10 4-pack shelf beer. just sayin' it's good and the price is right, along with most of their other regular stuff. that's all.

I like Ten Fidy better. I like narwhal better. I like Peche Mortel better.

Breakfast stout is a fine beer, but with 10,000 posts of people drinking it and fawning over how great it is, not to mention all the perfect 5 scores it has, I expected something that could stand up to the best. The flavors were spot on, but rather basic and not that much depth. As a shelf beer, I'm sure I would buy it all the time, but not even close to the hype it gets

I enjoyed ten fidy more than FBS but they are completely different.

You realize it's made in Michigan, right? It gets a 10% bump for that reason alone.
