While browsing around for a couple solid bottles for my buddies bachelor party I decided to mix up my own six pack and I stumbled upon Wachusett Larry. Man...This can was like $2 and change? and it was EXCELLENT. Comparatively to several of the top imperial IPA's this beer has to be considered my new most UNDERRATED beer I've had. Don't get me wrong it doesn't compare to some elite beers but others I have spent a lot more money on don't quite match up to this beer. Anyone else have similar feelings?

I'm pretty happy with the Wachusett beers I've tried over the years. Larry is certainly a great beer - maybe not a world class one on the level of Pliny or Heady Hopper, but more than adequate for a daily drinker sort of beer. I actually try to keep their standard IPA around most of the time, being a bit lighter, it won't weigh me down if I want a couple on a weekday night.
I was a regular at the Wachusett Mountain ski area a couple years ago, and at the bar there, I would actually prefer the Country Ale. The IPA seemed to be too fresh, if that's possible (blasphemy, I know...)

I would say for a Mass residents Larry is a way better choice than Heady or Pliny. Value and availability make it a winner in my book. Plus its a damn tasty DIPA and you get 6
