Heading to Waitsfield for a wedding. Is there a hotel/inn that's walking distance from decent beer destinations?

What do you consider a beer destination in Waitsfield? There's no breweries there and it's very small (~2k population), closest destination is the Warren General store in Warren where you can get bottles of Lawsons.

I'd recommend staying in Waterbury, just because there's more hotels/rooms/BnB there and lots more pubs. ("lots more pubs" means ~4) Alchemist and Ben & Jerry's is in Waterbury. It's also closer to HF, Burlington, and Montpelier. There's one BnB in downtown Waterbury that's walking distance from the pubs/downtown. The pubs have great beer on tap and usually have Heady, Lawsons, Hill Farmstead, and many other VT beer (Blackback Pub, Pro Pig, Reservoir). Waterbury is a short drive from Waitsfield (about 10-20 mins, I think).

Quick answer: Stay in Waterbury or just stock up and stay close to the venue.

From my memory, not only is there not really any beer destinations in Waitsfield (maybe Mad Taco, Smoke House, or American Flatbread, but they'll just have 1 or 2 good beers on), nothing will be in walking distance of wherever you are staying or could stay.

James laid out why you would want to stay in Waterbury

Perhaps he is thinking he might be drinking at the wedding and not have a designated driver. Those roads are small and windy sometimes it's best to man up and not have a bar nearby and not get done for DUI . If he is just on a beeercation then fine staying in Waterbury is great but sometimes its best to stay where you can get to your room safely plus stay up to interact with other wedding guests. Just IMHO.
