Wakefield donor party

I would like some clarification in regards to the OG/donor bottle. The bottles that were sold on saturday were merely "extras" and every OG/donor should have 1 "free" bottle to be picked up? I am a little confused in regards to this

 

Yes. We got a free bottle of Master Blaster, with the option to buy another. Also we could buy extra bottles of Miami Madness and DFPF. Also saw bottles of the barrel aged Maple Syrup for sale.

 

Are the extra bottles limited to a certain amount? My trustee wasn't able to get any extra Master Blaster or Miami Madness.

 

The party was fantastic. All the beers were on point and the crowd was great. Besides the communication issues I believe it's a fantastic club and brewery.

 

Yeah it was amazeballs! I absolutely love haterade. I wish they would bottle 4 packs of it!

 

Master Blaster is $20 2pp at the brewery right now. Wasn't this suppose to be the member exclusive release.

 

This just keeps getting better and better. Just when I think the last poor decision was made, there is one that follows it up pretty quicky.

 

I am so glad I did not join this club because it would more than likely add some bias while I am at the taproom drinking these delicious beers. This is some next level -beer snob only caring about rarity- trolling and with the current state of trading, hoarding, mulling, etc.. I find it hilarious.

to clarify. I don't think people being screwed out of money or time is funny but honestly don't know why anyone who knows anything about miami would think this whole thing would stay on schedule. I've done construction. Getting anything built and opened in this town is a nightmare. I do think people being pissed because their bottle is no longer exclusive is funny. If you bought into this just to have some "no you cannot have" beer than you are into beer for all the wrong reasons.

 

Wakefield is a total clown.

 

Master Blaster sounds great! I'm about an hour north of Wakefield though and don't get off until 6, I hope they will still have some bottles there. I'll just give them a ring at 6.

 

He sold these "Donor only" bottles for $30 a piece during the pre sale Kickstarter thing a few years ago. Now he is selling them for $20. If one were to completely ignore time value of money this is still some grade A fuckery. I don't trade so I don't give a fuck about exclusivity but I do care about paying 33% more years ago for something I could walk in and buy today. I want to hear the folks who constantly defend this clown defend this outright lie.

Into beer for all the wrong reasons? When did you start posting from your big white horse?

 

For the record, Blaster Master is delicious though, all other issues aside.

I stopped by a couple of hours after the party ended and they were already on sale 2pp. I actually asked a bartender what the Donor bottle was thinking there was no way it was Master Blaster.

I'm not an OG member, I haven't been screwed out of anything buy this guy, and I enjoy his beer, but on principle alone, i'm only gonna go there a few more times this year! Maybe a half dozen.

 

I'm not even a member, but if you think people's irritation with Wakefield has anything to do with construction delays, you clearly haven't been following this very closely.

 

They made a ton of bottles and let the OG's buy as many as they wanted. There wasn't as many members or 'trustees' as they thought would show up.

It's a no win situation, if they don't make enough and the OG's can't buy unlimited bottles they'll get slammed. If they sell the leftovers to their local supporters they get slammed.
