I bowl on mondays and the guy on my team always wants to buy a pitcher of Bud Light, I say no, then he buys PBR. All I can drink thats semi-crappy.

    Cheers!

Alcohol and not just beer is about enjoyment. You drink for social reasons, when your watching sports, listening to music, hanging at the beach, and when you want something tasty with a little pick me up. I like fine beer, wine , scotch, gin, etc. because I enjoy the complex flavors that you can get from these libations. Nevertheless, I don't think it's blasphemy to drink Macro brews but I just don't enjoy the flavor profiles enough to buy them unless its for social reasons. I think its crazy to say that if you are on some remote beach hanging with friends and its 90 degrees out that you would refuse a watered down can of something cold with alcohol. For what it's worth when I started to drink in high school I thought Coors and Heineken were the two best beers in the world. When I got to college in 94, I tried SN's Bigfoot Barleywine and I didn't like it at first but now I love it.

When I first got into craft Iwould never of touched a macro and even turned them down when offered. I have since gotten off my high horse and will have a couple with friends if, that is all that's available.

Edit....these same BMC drinkers will now drink craft beer, intermittantly, and have grown to enjoy the different beers on the market.

Don't sweat it man! There are a lot of people on this site who are, dare I say, still newbies in the grand scheme of understanding the world of beer. Having tried Pliny doesn't mean diddly squat. I was once at that point where I couldn't stand the thought of drinking an AAL. I avoided them like the plague.

The truth is that they are pretty damn good at times. I even prefer them over "high quality" beers given the right setting. Don't let the single minded butt pirates give you crap.

The first beer I ever had was Corona Extra and I hated it. Eventually I ended up dating a dude who loved Blue Moon and I thought it was okay...a few months ago I had it again and thought it was horrendous. Can't even imagine how bad Corona Extra would taste to me now considering I had to chase it before. Never had the "pleasure" of trying Bud, Miller, Natty Ice, etc but I have so many awesome options for beer locally, there is no need. Don't see why one should get used to crap beer...I'd rather not drink than force down something I don't enjoy.

At the risk of sounding like Mark from "The Room" after listening to Tommy Wiseau's insipid rambling about what-have-you...so what's the interesting part? Did you leave out the final sentence, "And that's how I invented the beermosa"? I mean you were almost there with the whole beer and orange juice thing. You should always try mixing the liquids. That's how great stuff is created: Firestone Walker anniversary beers, Beatificontainer, Santorum, etc. I think we all learned something here today. And that's how I invented the beermosa.

I used to drink bad beer at parties and when money was tight. I usually pick up some Stella Artois, Sam Adams, or Maui Brewing Co. beer if I go to my local grocery store. However, it's on when I go to Total Wine. I can't get enough of that place. Also, I don't mind a bad beer every now and then when I go out. If anything, I go to a few local bars that have good beer at good prices.

My first beer I ever had was miller high life and I picked up a bum to buy it for me with my friends. I remember saying "this tastes like piss". Now when I here the term "piss water beer" I remember that funny day.

    Also shotgunning keystone light...

I didn't start drinking good beer until last year because of these awful beers ruining my idea of what beer is and it should be.

Always hated BMC stuff, started out drinking micro from Great Lakes, Crooked River and Western Reserve along with a huge passion for imports from across the pond, English, German and Belgian. Wasn't till years later of being on bowling and dart leagues that I went backwards to find something I could get with from the old man brews, PBR worked best as did Black Label, Genesee, & Lil Kings. Somehow these were more palatable than anything BMC had to offer or if I couldn't get Molson or Labatt(Canadian Bud, really). These days I always have a good cheap session around to mix with the craft and the imports and lately Genesee has been leading that pack. Be it macro or craft there's good and there's bad, but no matter what taste is subjective, one man's trash is another man's treasure, I've had trash from both sides of the fence.

There are no bad beers, just bad beer drinkers that drink stupid beers.

There will never be a "like." Toleration on the other hand sure. I can tolerate holding a crappy beer and sipping on it, but there wont be multiples I'll tell you that. My eyes have been opened!
