Going to be in SF tonight... Staying near Union Square, but location doesn't matter to me. 1) Which craft beer bars are the best for watching Warriors games? 2) What's the overall best spot to catch a game (doesn't have to be a craft beer bar)? Only recent info I found was someone mentioning "Richmond Republic or Barrelhead" & a couple years ago someone said Toronado was their spot...
Cellarmaker will likely have the game on, but it's 1 TV in the corner and there may not be sound. Ale Arsenal in San Carlos is a bit of a train ride away, but will certainly have the game on and a good tap list.
Try Bartlett Hall if you don't want to walk too far. I've only been there during football games, but I would imagine they show Warriors games too
Not my favorite place, but Golden Gate Taproom is an easy walk and people there will be fired up for the game. Also Hops and Hominy will have it on and is just a few blocks from Union Square.
Cellarmaker! (The other post that mentioned the Richmond Republic & Barrelhead didn't include Cellarmaker because they're closed on Mondays.)
As much as I love Cellarmaker and am in full agreement that it's the best brewery in SF, I do not think it's a great place to watch a game. There are only a handful of seats that have a good angle on TV and that's if you're lucky enough to get one to begin with. Also, most people won't be paying attention to said game, so you might look like a goof if you're randomly getting excited/clapping or whatever. On top of that, they will be blasting metal or whatever instead of the game's sound, which really is a preference thing, but if I'm watching a game I would rather hear it as well. All of these things are just like, my opinion man, but I personally just don't find it an environment that's conducive to anything more than having the game on as something in the background rather than having it be a focus. That being said, if you're in SF for one night, that's going to be my #1 rec to check out regardless of the not-so-great game watching experience thing.
