I will be in D.C. for 2 days next week and am looking for a nice spot to pick up local cans to go. I’ll be stopping at Churchkey for lunch on my way out of town and will be staying near the Capital if that helps. Thanks!

Based on my research I think the answer is no….
Any interesting beer venues in the Foggy Bottom area? I will be there this weekend 10/4 - 10/6, using public transportation.
    Thanks!

The Sovereign is really close to FB. They keep their draft and bottle/can list updated on Untappd. They also have them on their website though it doesn't show how current the lists are but at least you can see it better visually along with descriptions.

Churchkey and Aslin DC aren't too far away and should be pretty accessible by public transport.

The Foggy Bottom location of Andy’s Pizza has a great tap and can selection— pizza is very good too.

Blue Jacket and Atlas in Navy Yard are good options as well for those metro-bound.

This thread is a little old, but I figured that I would revive it, vice beginning a new one.

I am coming down for the weekend to attend the Iowa/Maryland game on Saturday, but I am also in the market for some CANs to take back to PA. My go-to, the shop on the corner behind Union Station at H & 3rd Sts NE, has gone out of business, :sob: so I am open to suggestions.

I am looking specifically for singles and especially of CANs. I do not want to be sent someplace that does not allow the breaking of six-packs. I am also committed to public transportation, so extended forays into Virginia and Maryland are also probably out.

I will be interested to read peoples' thoughts on this and I hope for some solid recommendations to come out of my inquiry.

    Thanks in advance!

The Brew Shop in Arlington is the first place that jumps to my mind. It's maybe two blocks from the Courthouse metro station on the orange/blue/silver line and just outside of DC proper. You can get a sense of their current inventory on their website, but that will only show, and only allow pre-orders of, full 4-packs. They let you buy singles of anything when buying in-person, and there may be some singles that don't appear on the website because they only have a can or two left. They also post all products on their Instagram account as soon as they come in.

Best of luck! And yeah, RIP Craft Beer Cellar.

Excellent recommendation! I was actually in there on a recent, previous visit and promptly forgot about it. You are correct in that it is well within stumbling distance of the Metro and they are happy to break multiples into singles. Many thanks!
