I went to HS with Joco. Love what he's doing with the place. Impressed that he's got a good selection of local stuff.

Beer Works is fine. The food and atmosphere will be a definite improvement over Watch City. Much better than letting it stay vacant. (Still waiting for the next overpriced gastropub to open in the social security building in Davis Square..)

Will complement Margaritas across the street and as noted Joco's and Gaff are doing great things.

So which of you guys is buying the brew tanks?

Late reply on this, but I just noticed that Portico recently announced that they'll start brewing at Mercury Brewing in Ipswich.

I'm surprised nobody is talking about Mikey Js being another great spot in Waltham to grab a beer.

Seriously? Did they actually change something in there, outside of putting up a new dart board?

I am surprised they could not find buyers. Divorce and maybe a partner they didn't know they had, seem to be a big part of the problem.

Clearly there's some bias on both sides in this article - but it kinda sounds like the owner lady just held out hope for a little too long. It's too bad, it sounds like it was a great atmosphere in its prime.
