Hey I haven't ever treated my beer with anything besides Camden or I used bottled spring water. I finally decided to jump into water treatment and this is my base water report put into bru n water. How is the basic or should I not bother and use distilled? [IMG]

That water is practically a blank slate. Use it!

Just add minerals and treat as required :grinning:

Surprised my beers haven't been totally shitty not treating till now. I guess pride is a tasty flavor addition.

I use spring water off the Bach hill. Never tested it, and no complaints on the beer.

That's a pretty sweet water profile to start with! Mine is good for stouts and porters but have to use a lot of distilled for lighter colored beers.

Will add that Bru'n Water makes water additions a breeze. Been pretty close most times on PH and beers have come out better than just using campden tablets and lactic acid.

As far as alkalinity and important brewing ions go, your water is great as a starting point. However, the 16.3 ppm nitrate is a bit higher than the (iirc) recommended max of 10 ppm for potable water. You might want to look into this.
