Yes really wrong! Watermelon isn't my thing anyway, but this was hard to swallow. Stuck with a whole 6 pack.

It sucks. It really sucks. Honestly, other than Grunion, I kinda don't care for BP anymore...

Long gone are the glory days of Sculpin. :slight_frown:

Yeah they've been doing these variants for years. They come out with a bunch on IPA day. It was only after the buyout that they were able to produce enough and get them distro'd.

I actually didn't think it was that bad. Yes, Jolly Rancher flavor but I got through a bottle and appreciated the change of pace. I couldn't drink more than a bottle at a time but I will probably have another one at some point. To each his own.

    Cheers,

Horrible drain pour in my opinion. Still have 5 left to give away some how. Worst beer I've had in last 12 months.

I think it's OK. I wouldn't buy it again, but it certainly isn't a drain pour.

I haven't had the courage to try it yet, but I didn't like the original Dorado either so I imagine I will hate it. For what it's worth I thought Pineapple Sculpin was AMAZING however.

No courage to try the Watermelon Dorado after having the Mango Even Keel. That didn't even taste like beer. It tasted like mango drink with slight carbonation. Typically I refuse to drain pour, so had to essentially chug it to finish it.

I had one the other night and was fine with it. Plus it yielded a tight buzz. But, like all the other fruit variants, i probably will only ever have 1.

If you like the base beer and like the fruit they add to it, it might be worth throwing in the mix just to shake things up.

My take on this is here. I tried to point out its good qualities, but I found it challenging.

I think the new cans of Anderson Valley Briney Melon Gose are the superior watermelon beer of 2016.

I agree with you. I really didn't think it was that bad either.

I thought it tasted like someone poured watermelon Smirnoff into my beer. Bad.

Watermelon beers have often been a miss for me. They sound great in theory though...

Just when I thought Ballast Point could do no wrong.....AND it seems a bit early for this beer;who knows, maybe this could have been Lawnmower Beer of 2016 if they released it in the summer.

I thought it was interesting, but not something I would buy again. The flavors don't quite work.

They have been for me too. The only one I really liked was Briny Melon from Anderson Valley.

Tasted like Watermelon Kool-aid with a bitter finish...I really didn't care of regular Dorado much, I'm sure that didn't help. Out of the 3 new fruities from BP, the pineapple was the only one I would have again...if it was free, and I just got done cutting the lawn...and it was 100 degrees and humid out
