Harpoon has a new mango beer. I've heard its just okay. I refuse to buy a 6 pack of it and haven't found it on draft in any bars.

Oh God, NO ES BUENO, and im fairly open minded about this kinda shit.

Is that Hell or High Watermelon any better? I dont see watermelon flavors going well with beer at all, but I'm still curious to see.

Am I the only one who also finds Grapefruit Sculpin medicinal?

I do enjoy the grapefruit sculpin and also enjoy Harpoon's Summer Shandy. But then again, I love grapefruit juice.

Had this on tap at Ballast Point, Miramar a month ago. Good thing it was only a taster. It tasted too much like cough medicine. I like regular Dorado, but this was reaching.

I genuinely enjoyed this beer. I thought the flavors of cucumber and watermelon rind complemented the hop character of the base beer very well. I know these flavors aren't universally appealing, but I thought Watermelon Dorado was well done. Add to that the fact that it is 10% ABV and I'm all in.

Try Anderson Valley's Briney Melon Gose. I thought it was very well done. They nailed the watermelon flavor.

I didn't try it because I'm not a watermelon fan in the first place. Also, I tried Pineapple Sculpin recently and it was a disappointment to me. With that being said, I liked grapefruit and habanero Sculpin.

I'll pick up the Watermelon Dorado if I see a single, just to give it a shot. I actually don't think 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon is bad, it's a decent warm weather beer.

Tastes like a watermelon jello shot.

I may be one of the few who also hated grapefruit sculpin. Tried all of them and didn't like one of them.

I found this one confusing, but not awful in the end. You just need to take it at face value. It had watermelon, then it had hops, then the combination of the two wasn't as good as flavors when separate.

Grapefruit Sculpin is the only one of these beers that is worth the money.

I've had regular Sculpin, Grapefruit, and Pineapple (didn't bother with Habanero because I already know I don't like spicy things). I find all of them, even the regular Sculpin, somewhat medicinal/chemical tasting. I think there's too much bitter and/or alcohol flavor that isn't masked well because they were all somewhat lacking in malt backbone. Pineapple Sculpin was almost too sweet smelling/tasting, but still had it a little bit. I liked Grapefruit the best because it at least fully embraced the bitterness of the base beer. Although none of them I drink regularly. In fact, I haven't been a fan of most BP beers (luckily for my wallet). I think Victory at Sea is too artificial tasting, their Pale Ale (since retitled California Kolsch) is just blah, and I haven't cared much for any of the Sculpin variants.

Ironically, I haven't tried Watermelon Dorado or even regular Dorado, yet here I am posting in a thread about it. I'll buy just about any BP beer I haven't yet had if I find it as a single, but buying a 6 pack is just too much of a gamble for me.
