Looking to Michigan BAs (I live in DC) for a bit of help on securing quality MI brews for my upcoming wedding. Long story short; the venue has a relationship with a Michigan craft brewery that makes (IMO) sub-standard quality brews. This relationship prevents me from bringing in Founders/Bells/Greenbush/Oddside etc. unless I am willing to pay a ridiculous markup... with one exception: I provide the venue with the contact of a Wayne County distributor who is willing to work with the venue on this one-off case. Rave has founders and bells, but imperial has oddSide, greenbush and shorts. BM me if you need help. I'm more then willing to provide info and help
Distributors in Michigan are licensed only to sell product in their assigned territory within the state of Michigan, and are not permitted to sell out-of-state or directly to consumers. Talking to a distributor won't get you what you need. DC does allow out-of-district brewers without current distribution in the area to self-distribute without licensing - meaning you can go right to the brewery and the brewery can ship to you, should they desire.
