    Hey all,

Getting married in 2 weeks(!!!!!) and we still haven't decided on beer (my fault). I need a recommendation (preferably from experience) on a beer that will go over well with a crowd while still being "crafty." We'll also have kegs of Bud Light. Needs to available in KS.

Also, any other wedding themed beers (besides Bell's)? I want to have a special bottle or two at the head table. Thanks!

my brother just asked me about this and said he had a few definites for kegs, coors lights (i know), sam adams oktoberfest, and i suggested sierra nevada pale ale. if you're drinking all day and night, which i know we are, i think it is always best to try to keep your ABV as low as you can while not sacrificing taste. I'd say Boulevard Pale or Wheat would go over well, lots of weddings here in Nebraska have a keg or two of Boulevard in addition to the usual Bud Light kegs.

    I
know it's in cans but Tallgrass beers , which are out of KS, are fantastic!

Funny you mention Tallgrass, back when the company was getting started they brought some of their beer (in bottles at the time) down to my hometown looking for investors. Over last holiday break I was talking to my stepdad about it and he ran upstairs and I'll be damned if he didn't have one of their original bottles up there. I think one of their original investors is going to be at our wedding, maybe we should get a Tallgrass keg.

Where in KS are you? It'll give me a frame of reference as to what kegs you can get.

We had a keg each of Boulevard Seeyoulator, Boulevard Amber, and Bud Light at our wedding three years ago, and suffice it to say, we returned a 3/4 keg of Bud Light to Lukas Liquors along with a pair of empties.

My recommendation: Buy what you want for you wedding, not what you think others want to drink. People into craft will appreciate your offerings, and people not into craft will appreciate it because it's free. /gettingoffsoapbox
