Getting married in September and looking for a solid 4-5 beer lineup. Things to consider: low-mid abv options, variety, $10 and under a 6 pack, and readily available in San Diego. Here's an early lineup Proposal. Any recommendations are welcome, most here have way more knowledge than me.

    Weihenstephaner hefeweissbier
    Session - Lager
    Lagunitas - little Sumpin Sumpin
    Deschutes - fresh squeezed
Green Flash - west coast ipa

Thinking I might include a stout instead of one of the last 3. Thanks in advance.

IMO Unless your guest list is comprised of craft beer drinkers you should stick to a safe beer like a sam Adams Boston or equivalent. I would also consider a keg vs multiple 6 packs.

I would also get a case of your favorite beer regardless of cost for yourself and enjoy them with a select few who wish to have them. You can always save the rest and generally my experience is that people party long after the wedding is over.

Should have mentioned it's a small wedding (60) with a good chunk being craft beer drinkers. Thought was the weinstephaner would cover any blue moon/shock top lovers and session would cover the bud peeps.

Maybe I'll add a wedding staple of sam Adams / Corona /Heineken. That's your typical wedding lineup, guess I can add one to keep the masses happy.

I know this isn't particularly helpful because it won't be around in September - but I introduced a lot of my friends (most of whom are Bud Light or liquor drinkers) to Sierra Nevada Hoppy Lager this past weekend and they all LOVED it. So maybe replace one of the IPAs with an IPL or something of the sort? Just a thought.

Also, I would probably replace the Session Lager with one of Bud/Miller/Coors/Boston/Corona/Heineken.

60 people so roughly 120 beers total? I'm assuming half are ladies and are into wine? So estimate 4 beers for every guy right!

It's your day and I wouldn't have more than a couple beer styles unless it's in your budget and planned for!!

Sam and Shock top/blue moon come in 30 packs right!! A couple cases of your favorite craft and your ready lol!!

Also please take a shot or have a beer before you walk down the aisle. (Helps calm the nerves lol)

I agree with this individual. & 60 people? That's still a mid sized wedding in comparison to mine due up in april i'm only having 23 at most.

Btw crustacean, thanks for the tip about the shot, I just might do that x2 (thumbs up for the suggestion)

I'd consider some of the beers from Anchor.

I made sure to make our 1st drink together Bride Maker by Jacks Abby. It is a barleywine so I bought 5 so, we will have one for our first 4 anniversaries.
i know that is not what you are asking... but check it out. It is a cool idea to do something like that if the Mrs is into beer.

4 beers won't cut it with my friends. Planning on 6 per guy, women drinking wine. Part of the decor is the beer and wine, a good portion of the beer drinkers enjoy a good craft beer.

Trying to steer clear of the typical wedding beers. Always hate it when im stuck drinking Heineken and Corona. Venue is letting us bring in our own beer and wine allowing for a decent alcohol budget.

We just finalized our beers for our wedding in April and we are doing the following: Boulevard Wheat, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Deschutes Black Butte, Odell IPA, and a light beer. We are having a bigger wedding and, like you, wanted some variety of styles with reasonable ABVs.

At my wedding we had the following:

    Modern Times - Black House
    Pizza Port - Swami
Anderson Valley - Gose (highway 128?)

To me they were all approachable beers and all different varieties with something for nearly everyone. People either loved or hated the gose but it's a nice, crisp, love ABV and nice n funky. Keg price is pretty cheap on it too.

    Congrats by the way!

No problem. Also, my friend got married in December and had Fresh Squeezed at his, and it was a big hit, even with people that aren't big into craft.

If you want to class it up just a tiny bit, drop the Hefe in favor of the Weihenstaphaner Kristalweissen (sp?). Tastes nearly the same, but is crystal clear and bubbly. Or just add it to the lineup. Could be a great substitute for champagne as a toasting beer.

I think you should have an IPA, a Stout (maybe a Porter), and an Amber. And probably a light adjunct lager for the crowds.

I brewed our wedding beer and just did a Pale Ale and an Amber. And people were very pleased. But we only had 100 or so guests. And it was at a winery so there was wine there too!

Are you wanting to do kegs or only bottles?

I would be happy to attend your wedding and drink the beers you are proposing. The only possible reason to change your list might be the food.

Some additional info from a birthday party that I just threw, although not sure how helpful it will be. I provided two Brooklyn mixed 12-packs. No one touched the East India Pale Ale or the Lager (IPA wasn't a surprise, the lack of interest in the Lager was a shock). I think 1 or 2 Pilsners went. Everyone grabbed the Brown Ale. This surprised me. My takeaway here is that perhaps you should provide some kind of Brown ale.

Just as an aside (OP I think your line-up sounds great) - something that always baffles me in these wedding threads are the number of responses where people seem to be so conscious of what the proletariat will/won't want to drink. Is this a cultural thing? Because based on my experiences from the UK (plus a few years in NYC), people at a wedding will drink what's put in front of them. I think everyone is there to celebrate and have a good time, not be overly critical if their ideal drink of choice is not served.

I mean by all means make common sense choices. A keg of Westbrook Gose could be off-putting to some people. And a keg of BCBS could result in the police being called in, but otherwise I say pick what you want. Are there parts of the country where people would honestly not choke down the beer list mentioned in the OP? They'd just sit and drink water instead?

At my wedding the only beers available were various casks of Thornbridge. All the good-beer lovers liked them of course. Most of the stella and/or non-beer drinkers were pleasantly surprised. And the handful of people that didn't care for it (not that I heard there was anyone in this category)? I'm sure they got it down, cos it's a fucking wedding so why not.
