I got married last September and thought about making some homebrewing for favors. But the task of making 250 bottles with my rudimentary equipment frightened me. I did have Ballast Point Big Eye IPA as the "Groom's Choice".

We served the following beers at our wedding:

    Brooklyn Local 1
    Chimay Premiere
    Homebrewed Weizenbock
    Homebrewed Abbey Singel
    Nugget Nectar
    Dogfish Head Shelter Pale Ale
    Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
    Budweiser

We served the Local 1 instead of champagne, it went over extremely well.

Around here the beer keg gets more visitors than the wine stand. If you want to keep it affordable go with some of the Samuel Smith varieties. Tough to beat for the money.

Agree with this suggestion. They have a bunch of good varieties that will appeal to craft and non-craft drinkers.

I'm in IL, suburbs of Chicago. And the great suggestions keep coming, thank you all once again. I got lots of thinking to do.

I just told our wedding venue that I require Kegs of Short's instead of piss-water called Bud Light and Miller light.

Unfortunately I think we're still going to have some of that garbage at the bar. My plan is to have a few garbage BMCs to keep everyone happy, one guest keg of my choice, and two bottles of whatever we decide at each table.

Can you have a second wedding and invite me?
    Please?

Lots of good suggestions here, although some are a tad pricey. Ommegang sounds like a good option (definitely going with some Belgian-style bottles at the table is a good idea).

Kegs of Samuel Smith's in the US? Never heard/saw of it on tap and availability of kegs is not noted on the Merchant du Vin website anywhere that I see.

    The OP was about bottles.
