Hey BAs, I am seeking out important information: So my wedding is at Los Verdes Golf Course on July 19, 2014. The venue is allowing me to put in a request for kegs of beers that they may be able to get. I'm not familiar with the distribution for Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (I live in Fresno)...so any info as to what I will be able to request would be awesome. I'm looking to probably do two 10-15 gallon kegs...possibly 3. I'm wanting great beers, but nothing too high in alcohol, as it will be open bar. One keg must be an IPA, and the other...preferably a dark beer that isn't an imperial stout (I don't want people getting too jacked up). I would be crossing my fingers for Nelson or anything from Alpine for the IPA, but that may be a long shot. I know Sculpin may be an easy choice, but kinda looking to snag something special...considering a lot of my guests are beer nerds. Please help me out with any pointers or suggestions. Thank you guys very much! Cheers!
two suggestions. First thing you can do is find out which distributors service the golf course. Harbor, Haralambos, Stone (the one you would want) and others are all big distributors. When you find out who the distributors are, ask for a copy of the product list, and there you go. The alternative is, if you're allowed, to buy from a 3rd party. Select Beer Store in Redondo sells kegs and is a fantastic place. I think Adam's in Redondo sells kegs as well but I'm not sure
If there is any trouble getting what you want through the golf course then we can order up a very wide variety of kegs for you at Adam's. I got married about a year ago now and we had a 1/2bbl (15.5gal) of Revolution XPA from Eaglerock and a 1/2bbl of Prima Plis from Victory. It worked well for everyone. I've found out the hard way what happens when you pour a 7% or higher keg at a party. While a few craft beer lovers are happy, the rest of the party doesn't like it or ends up really wasted because they are not used to drinking higher abv beers. Anyways if you need any help feel free to reach out. Cheers
