    I have a six pack Of Weihenstphaner Heffe Weisbier and the code on the bottle is 2056. Can someone tell me how to decipher that code and what the average shelf life is?

    Read it backwards. The last number is the last number of the year. The middle two numbers are for the week of the year. The first is the last number in the day.

    So for your bottle i believe it's

    6=2016
    05= 5th week of the year (ie first week of February)
    5 = 5th day

    Feb. 5, 2016

    Minor typo as you did mention the first number is the last number of the day. Feb 2, 2016. Cheers!

    Man. I picked one a Kellerbier last week. Date code 3056 so, Feb. 3, 2016. Not so fresh.

    Yeah, that kellerbier was a one run thing, so best to avoid by now if you care for fresh beer

    Bottles are still tasting pretty good but, agreed, the 1516 is not the magnificent beer it was this Spring; draft in particular..
