Yes, I agree on this one. It's nice to relax with a drink on your own and ponder, personally it's my version of meditation. I love to sit by a campfire and do this too.

Haha I do exactly the same thing. One store gets it on Wednesday, but my singles spot gets it on Thursday, so If I plan on only buying singles I wait until Thursday.

I attend a tasting once a year at which we drink the worst beers we have, and infected beers, and expired beers (more expired the better)

At least I'm not doing that of our food anymore. The beer thing I can do on my own.

Well it feels quite weird because us <1% beer nerds on this site happened to be scattered all of the world and not all shopping in the same places so in that respect we are alone or quite the minority when out shopping for beer. Perhaps in more metro or the higher end beer superstores you'll have several people in the store at a time doing the 15min+ beer buying/scanning visits. I'd say only a small handful of times over 5 years in the 3-4 various local craft beer stores have I seen any other person in the same time as I am spending as much time in stores. I'm sure the staff know me now as the odd customer.

I talk to my grain when milling and run my fingers through it to make pretty patterns.

Damnnnnn! Definitely not weird, since I do the same. I have roughly 350 bottles but it looks like you've got me beat by a good margin. I have to ask though: it seems as if the bottles are stacked on top of each other with no shelf separation. If that's the case, isn't that a bit dangerous?

Edit: Upon further inspection, I see that you have the bottles stuck to the wall with some sort of adhesive? What do you use?

If you have a Nugget Nectar (no fresh allowed) vertical that went really well last year.

I make my wife try every beer I drink in her presence, even though she usually hates them. She's beginning to really dig BA stouts, but IPAs still make her wince.

I quickly rinse each glass with cold water before pouring in my beer. Ritual.

I do that too and I don't think that it's weird. I think it's good form. Rinses away dust or anything like that.

Ya, probably so, or I would think this is the case! I wasn't sure if the thread was centered around odd behavior as it is viewed through other BAs or people who don't have our same sickness, er, I mean, enthusiasm. It would be VERY difficult for someone to come up with a weird beer thing that is viewed as weird by other BAs, except that whole "going down on" the whalez bottle, which let's only hope that's a gag (no pun intended) because if not, well, that's just, no.

I used to have to keep a lock on my beer fridge because when my roommates got drunk and ran out of Coors or PBR they would raid my stash, relieving me of DFH 120, BCBS, or other semi-rare beers.

I'd say the weird thing here is having roommates; you've gotta get rid of those ASAP.

What's the oldest non-cellarable in your stash??
