    This thread is useless.

Can't believe no one has suggested freezing his beer in carbonite yet.

If you use clumping cat litter, you will have an easier time cleaning up any broken bottles, spills, leaks, etc.

This is likely the last post I will ever make on beer advocate. Primarily because there are some seriously rude comments. It kinda reminded me of the brutality that you only see in the cesspool (comment section) of you tube. I very much know that this is an unconventional idea but thought that I could have an intelligent conversation about it with some one. Especially considering that we are only talking of a house in which the temperature ranges from 55-80 degrees year round and sand was a method of preservation long ago. I will likely continuing geocaching my beers.

Good luck OP.....I just hope that whatever method of insulation you end up choosing is thicker than your skin.

Do want ever you want, but using only insulation, be it sand, foam, etc, your beer will eventually hit 80 degrees in the summer and 55 degrees in the winter. You are only slowing the transfer of heat to and from your bottles. Also, it's important to note, that the insulation will have the opposite effect of what you want in the fall, when the insulation will keep the bottles warmer for longer (prevents the heat from escaping where you keep them).

(Or bear cellar, as I initially typed.)
