Weirdest Beer Run Ever...

    Anyone ever have a similar experience? Went into my local bevy after work, was gonna get a Captain Lawrence Imperial IPA. Simple enough. Found out he got a delivery today, 2 cases of DFH 120, 1 case DFH World Wide Stout. It being my Birthday tomorrow and having some extra cash from a card on me, I bought both, how can I resist. Problem is, had no more cash for my intended purchase... After all a buck fifty will not buy a Captain Lawrence.

    So the haul went like this... DFH 120, DFH World Wide Stout, Genesee Cream Ale tall boy. The guy at the counter gave me the weirdest look and I can't figure out why?!

    you should have explained to him that the genny screamer serves as a palate cleanser between the 120 minute and the WWS

    Did someone say beer run?

    So you bought cases, singles or six packs? Either way I have a feeling you are happy even without the CL IIPA.

    Singles of each, 1. I couldnt afford a case of the DFH beers, 2. They're limited release around me so you get 1 bottle at most per bevy. Personally I do enjoy the Genny Cream, they're great after work beers when you're really low on cash. What was nice is that he has family in Rochester NY and that's their beer of choice when he visits. It's got it's time and place of desire. Especially on a limited budget

    If I ever have the balls to buy a SA Utopias, I'm gonna make damn sure I throw it on the checkout counter with a basket full of 40's. St Ides and Utopias son!

    One time I bought a case of Narraganset and two bottles of Cantilion Classic Gueuze at the same time. It was neat.

    I want to hurt him. Totally agree with jzeilinger. I keep my shit hidden, and share with those who appreciate. The IPA I drank last night. The WWS I'm gonna wait on. I've had it fresh and I've had it aged a few years. The latter was way better, needs some time to smooth out. I should grab another bottle or two of Tokyo Stout for this purpose as well. It drinks nice enough fresh, I'd love to see what a few years will do.

    Whatever dude, DFH is continually brewing it, it's not like he's wasting much. Anyway, I think all of those guys are into craft and were just having fun.
