Thought I'd share a nice response to an inquiry I made about WeldWerks' Colorado Springs taproom earlier today. ----------- WeldWerks Taproom <[email protected]> 1:29 PM (1 hour ago) to me, info Hey David, Thanks for reaching out, we appreciate your patience with this lengthy process. We've had a number of obstacles with the build ranging from a very wet spring which halted construction, to supply chain issues now doing the same. That being said, while the build is taking longer than any of us would have wanted, we are still moving forward and hope to have the taproom open by later this year! We'll look forward to seeing you down there in the near future! Cheers, The WeldWerks Team ------------- I live only three short walking blocks away from the site, and I drive by the place many times. I hadn't seen any progress except for a massive pile of dirt and half of the original building for a while, so I thought I'd ask 'em what's up. Good news...
Covid has really destroyed industrial supply chains. I work in the auto industry, and am seeing backorder release dates on common parts like air filters. I couldn't imagine trying to build a taproot right now.
We did... The most common issue we saw is product delays and price increases in shipping costs... sometimes double or more than the pre-pandemic levels. We also had a difficult time finding a water fountain of all things. We had to get a variance from the city to use a single-height drinking fountain. Also note- I drove by the WW site about a month ago. They have not made significant progress that I can see. I believe the projected opening date is now Spring/Summer 2022.
