Just returned from a short trip to the LA area
Went to many package stores trying to find Pliney with no luck, however I was lucky to find it on tap
at Beachwood BBQ in Costa Mesa. Anyone been there? Bartender hailed from North Eastham, small world, they had a great couple dozen taps, had him set me up with a pint of Pliney and a seat at the bar, the Pliney was awesome, as were some local brews I cant recall the names of now...
In checking the stores for Pliney I noticed some things...None had pliny, none had Sucks, all had Rebel IPA in 12 pack boxes (something I havnt seen yet here). I was curious about the lack of Sucks and each person I asked said they've seen very little this season. So Lagunitas must be taking care of us here in New England, their percieved enemys back yard...
Lots of Sculpin, 6 pack cans were 14.99 most places...
    Saw no enjoy by...
    Saw lots of Shipyard!

This sounds crazy . . . I mean, here in Ohio, California brews are everywhere. Sucks, Racer 5, Sculpin come to mind. I know your alot further east but still odd I think.

Ever since my wife and I had samples of Beachwood's Amalgamator IPA at The Festival in Portland last year, we have dreamed of visiting them and ordering endless pints of it. Was that on tap?

On a short weekend trip to San Fran I didn't find any Pliny in bottles, but I did find Supplication at Whole Foods. I got my Pliny fix at the brewpub so no biggie.

Funny that Sucks was scarce there.

I was at the Beachwood location in Long Beach (not costa mesa like i said above). They didnt have their own IPA on tap that night, but it was explained to me that the other location is at the Brewery (I think) and offers more of their own brews than the BBQ joint. Not sure the location of the brewery, must be near Long Beach

The brewery is in Long Beach. You were in Seal Beach. They only have the two locations. Amalgamator comes out later this month. Right now the LB location has Hop Jitsu and Hops of Fury on for the IPA's made in house. Sucks is around, just need to hit the right spots. Saw cases of it at Hollingsheads last week.

Daytime is a "session ipa". It was released here during the first run, and I think it was just released again for the first time since.

MA wasn't getting the rest of the regular FW lineup outside of Union Jack. Just recently a shipment came in with the pale, pils, and DBA. It's around now.

When it came here at the end of the summer in 2012, it was a session IPA. It just hit area shelves again last week and its more of a pale ale.

Sucks has been tough to get here in San Diego. I think they didn't load the CA market up to much and more people might know of Lagunitas out here than in the rest of the country. Just a guess though.
