West Coast Hops

    I've read that the West coast tends to be more hops oriented.

    Is this because people want hop brews or because thats what the brewers want to make?

    I think it's just a style that has really taken a footing.. Not only that, but alot of American hops are from the PNW.

    Yep, a high percentage of hops come from the Yakima and Willamette Valleys (Washington and Oregon respectively).

    As to your question, it's because they taste and smell wonderful.
