The unfortunate being-owned-by-Heineken thing has definitely hurt them a bit.

From what I once read, the owner’s son had zero interest in brewing, so the big dog pretty much said, “What the hell?” Might as well get something out of this while I’m alive or something g to those regards. I don’t think it was a cash grab, per se, but just a chance to make more beer and be more we’ll known. Did they have a tasting room before Heineken? I also saw a post (probably a year back) how they bright some of their beer to London one time. I like their beer and will continue to drink it while I can.

I feel a moral obligation to rescind my Earth Thirst recommendation. Seems to have tipped over the edge in the last week or so and my last can was a malty mess. Look out for it next March though

While we're all reminiscing about the good old days, am I the only one who wishes we could go back to 12oz cans as the norm? It's bad enough I have a hard time finding an IPA under 7.5% without forcing me to drink it 16 oz at a time.

I second this. I find myself wasting beer sometimes because I want some variety but don’t want to get too drunk. More 12 oz cans would be welcome in my fridge.

I prefer a full pint when I drink a beer. But that’s just me. Anyway, lets not get derailed. This is the WC IPA Thread.

I drank 2 cans of a 6.5’er during a 2 hour committee meeting earlier today (yay the life for a college professor!)

I have to teach tomorrow afternoon and am, well, having a couple beers finishing my lesson plan.

I was hopping that ESBC would keep the Mayberry at 12oz instead of the 16oz cans. For me that would be a perfect closure. For now it’s the Pupil.

Not cans, but I went through a 6er of Fall Let's Go bottles real damn fast. That beer is a great WC. Fall is doing 30% all to-go at the brewery.

Also, Amplified's Electrocution in cans right now is awesome (those are 16ozs).

I wish Fall was shipping, I rarely see their stuff in SF but they were such a highlight of my trip to SD

This is a public service reminder to drink your IPAs and music FRESH!

Then again, there are things worse than stale beer and 2020 DLR.

I come to the experts for a humble request: what is the best hoppy, yet MALTY imperial on shelves these days? I want more balance than Maharaja (pure malt) and Hello LA (hops). Pliny is close, Peak Bagger was nearly there, and Double Gator is the archetype. Please, suggest more frequently brewed competitors! If available on shelves, all the better!

Teaching never ceases to surprise me, in an introspective, wonderful way. I sweat and I sweat the lesson plan, but even on my "off days" my students make me feel appreciated! I know I can do better (on the off days), but the gratitude persists in the worst of times, so uplifting. It may have to do with the university I am at, but wow, it is energizing!
