Westbrook 4th anniversary beer in AL?

    Did I miss it? Haven't seen Hop City or anyone else post they had it yet.

    One of the guys in AL I follow on Untappd checked in to it and one of the guys who works at HopCity that I follow asked him where he found it...so they may not have it yet.

    I saw some in Huntsville before Christmas. Would have thought it would have hit Birmingham also.

    Hop City got it … that's where I got one of mine on the 23rd. It wasn't on the floor, though. You had to ask for it and there was a one bottle limit.

    I think Hop City got 5 cases, Whole Foods also got an allotment.

    Well I struck out today. Hop City, Highland Package, and Whole Foods were all out of it. A Whole Foods employee said that 1 guy came in and bought every bottle they had which is kind of lame.

    Bummed I missed this year's anniversary beer since Orange Bliss was one of my favorite beers. Guess I will have to be more aggressive on these limited releases.

    Hop City got 5 cases(doubt there's anything left, I can ask). Whole Foods got 3(sold out upon release), Piggly Wiggly Homewood, Clairmont, and River Run each got a case(sold out via one bottle reservation, River Run had no limit). The only other place in the Birmingham area that got it was Highland Package and I doubt there's any still there even though I found a few El Gordo's on the shelf this past Saturday night.

    That Whole Foods employee is lying because when I got there, there were 4 other people there getting some and they were stocking the shelves one case at a time. I know several different people who all got at least 2.

    Weird, maybe he meant 1 guy bought the last of the bottles all at once? I will say I have underestimated the Birmingham craft beer scene, nothing sits on the shelves anymore.

    Well good news is Highland Package has it on draft right now. Bad news is I had to get it from Highland Package on draft.

    I've all but given up on trying get these limited release beers off the shelf...got my 2 Terrapins by In Person trade. Got both MooHoo Chiato and French Toast Wake n Bake that way. Too hard running all over town just to strike out everywhere.

    Amen to that. I really only mess with hop city and whole foods on occasion. The pig's reservation system is silly and I vowed to never attempt highland package again based on how bad the parking lot sucks!

    have you both tried the Pig in Homewood? Heather and Annie there are hard core beer nerds, might be worth having a chat with them.

    I have talked with Heather before but it seems like she has enough regulars to fill the reservations of limited beers. Especially when each store only gets 1-2 cases.
