Westbrook Gose in NYC?

It's crazy how little of that beer makes its way up here. The guys at Cable Beverages in Rockland order from a city distributor, I think. They said that they got in 5 cases, thinking they could always order more depending on how it sold. Well, it sold out in a flash and then they found out that no more was available.

I don't know if that's what it's like in the city, but for a beer that you would probably buy by the case it seems like it's too limited to suit that purpose.

 

There was very available in NYC last year. I've seen it only on draft so far. I assumed that cans are on the way?

 

Broadway Dive had some last time I was there over a month ago. They were a little outdated but I still bought a can it was fine. Beermenus says they still have it so hopeful they are newer cans. Perfect beer for this weather.

 

I haven't even seen the latest batch of it make its way up here yet. I think they only canned in several weeks ago. The last batch (~6 months ago) flooded NYC... would guess we'll see it everywhere again pretty soon.

 

There is talk from the distributor of it reaching NYC in the first week of May. I'm hoping this actually happens because they've pushed it back time and time again since the beginning of February.

 

According to someone who works at Prospect Heights Beer Works that I talked to over the weekend, the distributor keeps pushing it back but it looks like NYC will get it towards the end of next week (I was told May 14/15). Looking forward to stocking up on it for the summer.

 

just landed at manhattan whole foods. think they are knocking a dollar or so off the price - $12.49 + tax for a sixer...enjoy!

 

We git one case in here in Queens at my local shop. Guy broke it out into 4 packs.

I'm on the fence with this beer. It's super sour for a Gose but it's not well balanced. That or my head wasn't into it on lost can last month

 

I think it's super tasty puckering sour with saltiness like a sour patch candy. Not a good gose, but a great beer...

Also not at WF CC yet. That said, I do not understand CC's beer plan. First, they were expanding and expanding with what became a fairly respectable collection. Now, it seems to be shrinking again, and it's almost not worth checking to see what they have, as it's usually things I can find pretty much anywhere (including most Brooklyn grocery stores). Weird.

 

Whole foods union square $13.99/ sixer

 

WF Bowery for 13.99 a six-pack. Had around 9 cases this morning. Guy at Good Beer recently told me that they expect multiple shipments after this initial one. Not sure how true so might want to ask other places same question.

 

Bed-Stuy beer works has a bunch of six packs.

I need to go pick some up apparently.

 

Appears to have dropped in Brooklyn today too.

Again, want to reiterate that last time they made it (what, 8 months ago?) the city was inundated with the beer. Would be surprised if it's difficult to find over the next three months or so.

Grabbed a couple sixers at Carmine St. Beer last night.

 

I got a sixer at Whole Foods Tribeca. They had a ton of it.

 

Yeah, I got some at the WF on 57th this afternoon. Guy stocking the beer said they got a couple cases in and just put it out yesterday. That said, does anyone know how frequently Westbrook cans/releases this? Will we be seeing it pretty regularly the next couple months in NYC?

 

Anyone know if queens got some in this week?
