Whats currently barrel aging for the next release? I heard lots of bourbon barrels, hadn't heard about the tequila or any other barrels. Whats the scoop?

All I've heard is bourbon & tequila. Hoping for a few left over bottles of the AB. I liked red wine also but it ran 3rd for me. Still a top notch stout.

The bourbon was my least favorite of the 3 last year, but I still thought that variant was excellent. Im not sure how I feel about the tequila variant, but I said the same thing about the RW and like I said I thought it was the best. I was kind of hoping for a rum barrel aged variant. Not sure how well the rum would work with the base beer but after being blown away by Rummy Old Time it made me want it nonetheless.

I'm so excited this will be on tap at Hunahpu's Day. I expect to love it, and then I will hunt 2014 release bottles for months on end lol

Yup, saw that too! Can't wait to give it a try. Also hoping I have a "work" trip that coincides with the release.

I'm lucky in that I actually do have 3 clients in the Tampa/St. Pete area that I don't get to see too often, so I am making it a work trip (for Hunahpu's Day, not the Cake release). Either way, we all win!

It was mine, too. For me, it was RW > AB > JD

I've heard tequila and two different bourbon barrels, one of which is chocolate bourbon. Not sure about others, but I talked with Edward about it at a beer dinner a few months back, and he said he wants the next release to be "more barrels, more bottles." Westbrook's got a hell of a barrel room, so who knows what it could be aging in.

Based on the past releases, how easy will it be to just get it within the week it's released? If I just went to the brewery could I buy a case for myself, or do they have limits on that in SC? I fell in love with this beer last year, but by then it was no longer available on the shelf. Made me a little mad at myself that I ignored it the past couple years.

Limits vary on a store-by-store basis, but it's pretty plentiful. I think last year's release was on shelves for at least a few weeks after release depending on the area. They had a larger batch last year and may make even more this year now that they've got the 120 BBL fermenters, but I haven't heard anything about whether they're planning to produce more.

Sounds good.... did they sell it out of the brewery at all (I see their website lists certain beers to go, didn't know if they did this for all their packaged beers)? Also, what was the normal price point? I've only been given bottles by people, never bought it myself.

$10? For that beer? Am I going to have to buy a goddamned case?

Everything they bottle is sold at the brewery, so yes. As dotes said, it's about $10 a bomber.
