Chiming in just to keep track of the distribution. My daughter lives in Greenville and said she would pick some up for me. I imagine this is going to hit Total Wine.

Edward just decided to sell some of it last night. They also put it on tap. The finished product was way better than what I tasted out of the tanks. Thick, sticky, tons of almonds, and a nice toasted coconut finish. I am with Derek on this one, excellent beer. And $10 for a 10% abv bomber (or $5.50 for a 12oz draught) is a great deal.

Best anniv beer since Mexican Cake IMHO. They should have thought of a better name than "4th Anniversary" though, because they could brew this one annually (like cake) and have another highly sought after annual release.

Yeah, the name of a beer is really what matters.

This one is already showing up in Upstate S.C. today...hooray, we got it before the folks in the lower state, for once! Not sure how that works, really...

Well, next year when they realize the demand for this beer was off the charts (because it's really, really good), and it would make sense to brew and release it again (because it would be a profitable business decision), and they re-release "4th Anniversary" in their 5th year in business, it's not going to be nearly as marketable as, say their 1st anniversary beer, which they named Mexican Cake.

But I suppose you're right - it's those little things that I notice being in marketing my entire career - that most people don't give a second thought to.

    Troll on...

Also @heffnate77, if you're looking to trade for any of this amazing beer, I'm sure @WckdVbz will be your huckleberry.

You bring up a good point, but why couldn't they just call it "Chocolate Coconut Almond Imperial Stout"?

They could. But again, does that sound as intriguing, memorable and desirable as Mexican Cake? There was thought put into Mexican Cake as a name based on the ingredients. That same level of thought was not put into this beer from a future marketability standpoint. Just sayin.

Peace out. Heading to Westbrook to drink it up, no matter what it's called!

Anyone know if they have a schedule for the special taps tomorrow or will it just me random and or all at opening? I'm hoping they tap a keg or two of one of their rare beers I've never had. But tomorrow is essentially the only day between now and Christmas that I will have time to do Christmas shopping, so I can't just sit at Westbrook drinking all day. Would like to be strategic about my Westbrook stop and be there when (if) the gems I've recently missed out on are tapped.

Loads of coco powder and milk chocolate. You can really taste the almonds.
gets better as it warms up then a bunch of vanilla starts to come through.
Tiny bit of coconut, just enough to know something is there.
A barrel would put this beer on another planet.
