Hey guys. I'm heading to a concert next week in Westbury on the Island and am looking for some help finding a place to grab some decent food and beers. I've found the Black Sheep Ale House a few towns over. Wondering if there's any better options? Also, if there's any stores that aren't out of the way, I wouldn't mind doing a little shopping if I have some time. Thanks in advance for any help - I'm not that familiar with the Island.

Black sheep doesnt have food. If you want good food go to The Good life.

Have to agree. Morrison's or good life if you have the time. Black sheep is great if free dirty water dogs is your thing.

Prost in Garden City is a German Bier Haus, ok beer, mainly German (obvs) with some local German-style beers from Barrier and some craft stuff (they really need someone to curate their list) but they have some good mostly german food (pig wings are great)... its an option, Morrisons and Good Life a better, but Good Life is farther away...

As people mentioned, Morrison's is closer and has some solid options. The Good Life in Massapequa is 20-30 minutes from Westbury (depending on the LI traffic) and is about the best option for craft. I've been to Waterzooi and it is a fun experience with lots of Belgian beers. If I were you I'd check the Good Life tap list and if you find something you like make that your food stop. And if you do head there check at the Superstar Beverage in Amityville since it is a close by beer shop that does growler fills.

Who are you seeing and are you going to The Space of Westbury Theater... depending on the day of week, you can also hit up Barrier brewing (20-25 min), grab some growlers or flights/pours... i highly recommend it

Conor Oberst and Dawes. And yeah - the Space at Westbury. I'd typically love to hit up Barrier, but I'll have some people with me, and it being on a weekday, I don't think it's in the cards.

And thanks, guys. I think it's safe to say that The Good Life is the place to go. Hopefully we can squeeze in the extra travel time from Jersey.

There is also market bistro on the hicksville /jerico border. They only have about 6 taps and don't update their beermenus.com that often but the food is a couple steps above morrison's and good life.

Do your best to convince your friends to take the detour to Barrier. They shant be disappointed. Depending on the day, you may be able to get there early. They just revamped there hours recently, and have been opening up around 3 oclock on Thurs-Fri I believe. Wednesday is still 4pm, but open till 9 now.
