I am very excited about the breath of offerings scheduled here in WMass
for this coming week. WesternMassBeerweek.org for schedule.
What a treat, and thanks for those who brainstormed the events.
Not my work, but excited to see it come together
    Cheers all

My wife and I stopped by Abandoned Building and New City this weekend. Cool locations, but AB seemed like a dungeon after the huge ceilings and big windows of New City

Planning to stop at AB, and Fort Hill on a little road trip on Sunday. Never been out that way.

Home from the Peoples Pint hosting event, all the Franklin County Brewers were on site. and represented on draft.
Peoples Pint, Stoneman, Honest Weight, Brick and Feather, Lefty's, Hitchcock, Berkshire Brewing, Element, and Artisan Coop.
Great line up and wonderful folks, most everything was kicked in 2-2.5 hrs. Met some nice people from CT doing the trip.
    Cheers all

Yep pretty awesome. Lefty's Mystery Box 4 and Stoneman Root Cellar were highlights, plus the sudden appearance of Hitchcock (Whately, MA) with a solid semi juicy IPA. Rumor has two more breweries coming to Shelburne Falls area, so the Franklin County population to brewery ratio, i.e. not quite Somerville's population divided by 10 will soon be 1:7,000 or so, or 1:6,500 if you count Artisan Bev Co-op. Still no jobs, but cheap real estate and overhead, and that's why we get to drink so many nice things out here because every asshole (even me) can afford a local beer or three.

We also enjoyed Hitchcock IPA, and Stonemans pale ale was excellent.
    Cheers

I was up at UMASS on Sunday for a lacrosse tournament for my daughter. Since it was my birthday, and I was driving home solo, I figured I'd make a small detour to Building 8. Plugged it into Waze, just 5 mins on the other side of 91, no problem. Until I get there- closed on Sunday. Doh. Instead I picked up a six of Fort Hill's Farmer's Freash "IPA" at a local shop. Not a bad beer, can't beat the price at $8.25 out the door. That's my Westerm MAm beer story of the week...

Heading off to the Amherst Brewing/Wormtown release then Foundry's, Firkin Face Off 2.0.
6 casks from local brewers, a twist this year, with ingredients for the offerings
from WMass food writers, and chefs.
    Should be interesting and busy.

The hours of these breweries are pretty bad. Open at four Thursday thru Sunday. Wish they would expand their hours a bit. Was going to stop at the Brick and Feather and they open at five. I realize staff have lives, but their hours are keeping me from stopping by.

Last night stopped at the Peoples Pint for the Gruit release, the variants from BBC, Stoneman, and the Pint where
superb, the base gruit on draft was as well.
Today we enjoyed BLDG 8, open house, the Brewmaster Jack release, then high tailed over to Brick and Feather for
a growler of the new IIPA, met a bunch of the Pedal 2 Pints group, what a great week.
Tomorrow up to Bright Ideas for there official opening at Mass Moca!
    Cheers all

Home from the Grand opening of Bright Ideas Brewing in North Adams at the Mass Moca campus.
Superb offerings, the cask ESB, the IIPA, and the NationAle are all excellent. The opening was well attended, featured live music and great food. They are off to the races!
So closes Western Mass Beer Week, Jan and I made 13 events in 8 days, congratulations to everyone for a great week.
    Cheers all
