My wife and I went to Westfield River Brewing a couple of weeks ago, the beer was fine, but figured we'd bring home a four pack of stuff to support a local brewery, even if it wasn't amazing. A few days later, my wife and I opened a can each, and they both just tasted like straight chlorine. I reached out to the brewery on twitter, and they didn't respond, which is a bit disheartening. We then opened the other two cans we had, and same issue.

Has anyone else run into this issue with them, or any other breweries?

Maybe the rinse water for packaging wasn't treated. The beer there didn't have a chlorine taste? Just the packaged? Maybe the town messed with the chlorine/chloramine levels.

Did you email or call the brewery directly? Or just reach out via social media?
Often times small breweries don't have the resources to monitor social sites for this sort of thing - they may go on just to post about their latest release or something.
A direct contact may end up with better results.

I only reached out on social media. I live two hours away anyways, so it's not like I'm going to be headed back anytime soon. The beers didn't have the chlorine taste at the brewery, no.

the brewery itself is located in Southwick MA about a half mile from the border of Westfield, where I live. I drive by there everyday to head to work on 10/202. The Water source, I believe will be from Granville to this location since it is on the border, there are some parts of westfield that source water from holyoke or springfield I believe. IF the water source is indeed from Granville ( which borders Southwick so it must be) then recent history, over the past 6 years at least, there has been several issues with the ground wells that store our water. Just 2 years ago we had a water ban, 2 wells were shut down for e-coli. How do they solve it? Shock it with, yes, Chlorine. so it very well may be the product rather than a packaging problem, unless they have filtration systems at the brewery for the product and perhaps not the packaging.
We have been to this brewery once, wasnt that impressed and have yet to be back. Thinking back my draft did taste a bit "Different" than other breweries I have been to. I know all are differnet but the feeling of the drink seemed just out there.

IF they do not have the courtesy to respond to your inquiry by any means you submitted then consider it a reflection of their customer service. There is hardly anyone ever there, I honestly dont know how they are surviving for this long especially, apparently, since they are not customer service driven. That one time I was in there as mentioned before they seemed "amateurish" honestly.
