Just read in the Belgian newspaper that westvleteren has to put a label on the botlles starting at beginning of 2015
Reason for this is that there is not enough information on the cap

All I've ever drank is Westvleteren beers, you mean to tell me that alcohol isn't good for your health and can cause health problems! I want to sue them for their negligence, what were they thinking not telling me this.

Because European laws say that all ingredients and were they come from have to be on the label , and that is impossible on such a small cap , there for they have to put a label on the bottle ( thats what it says in the article )

Translation for those who can't read Dutch:

Westvleteren for years voted the best beer in the world, to be famous label-less bottle soon be exchanged for a standard version. The crown which normally stood all information is too small. To comply with the European rules must indeed also the origin of the ingredients can be found on the bottle.

Westvleteren catches the eye because his bare bottle. Today Beer drinkers find all the information on the bottle cap. But now the Trappist abide by European rules.
Starting next year, the bottle should also mention the origin of the ingredients. "That's a tall order additional information. For now, we could lose all the required information on the bottle cap. Soon it no longer possible. We should be going to stick, "a label says a spokesman for the brewery today in De Standaard.
    Through stores
Geert Van Lierde, author of the book In the wake of the Trappists says that only beer in the stores is sold under the strict European rules falls. "Trappist Westvleteren sells only to the abbey gate and into the opposite café. But through the grapevine also pops up more frequently in Bruges and Brussels beer shops. Probably why Westvleteren acquiesces to Europe. "
End of 2011, is officially off the Westvleteren abbey entered once. To sponsor the renovation works when they sold 70,000 'building block boxes "(six bottles and two glasses). "Then also had more information on the bottles are" says Krishan Maaudgal who supervised the project. "We have that info then printed directly into the bottles so they became a collector's item."

They can paint the bottle pink and call it Voodoo Donut for all i care, as long as they don't mess with the cap (and it's date)!

Yea, now if they could start sending their beers to the US on a regular basis, that'd be great.
