If you guys want I can trade you some westy 8 and/or 12. I do live in Belgium so it would be an international trade. Let me know if you are interested!

And by far the least interesting of them.

Comments like this are only vaguely helpful and often inaccurate. While you made it clear that cherry/bramble are harder to get than coffee, which is harder to get than regular bcbs...to say there is no chance of getting those things in a trade for Westy8 or something of similar quality and rarity is ignorant. There are plenty of people out there who don't have access to the same things that you do.

Example, I just got a CBS for a Westy12 + HF Arthur (and the guy felt bad that I was going over $4$).

Bottom line...different strokes for different folks. Make your offers and sometimes it is just about waiting for the right person (no offense, cbeer88, categorical statements like that just bug me, I guess).

You could make the same argument for this entire forum. i.e. what is the point of ever discussing what things trade for? Of course anything can trade for anything at any time. There are tons of factors involved, and ultimately much of it depends on human generosity.

It's really just educated opinion and probabilities - I keep a pretty good pulse on what things trade for. If 10 people put up Westy 8 for Cherry Rye, I'm pretty sure than at least 8 or 9 of them won't get done. Quite possibly all 10. But, if 10 people put up some Westy 8's for BCBS, I'm pretty sure at least 8 or 9 of them will get done, if not all 10.

Anybody is welcome to put up whatever ISO:FT they want at any time. But if they come to the general forum asking for opinions, I take it as them looking for advice on what is most likely to happen.

CBS for Westy 12 + HF Arthur doesn't strike me as anything but a perfectly normal and fair deal, so not sure what your point is there.

That sounds perfectly reasonable except the part about the CBS trade . I think it was a "fair" deal, but you know damn well that it is very rare for anyone to let a CBS go for something that isn't at least as valuable as King Henry or BCBVS, which those beer that I had certainly are not. There was a huge influx of Westy12 into the states recently and Arthur is one of the easier HF brews to get. Both are made pretty frequently even if they are often stuck in their little corners of the world. I tried for a year before I found someone that reasonable. Most people that I mention that story to are floored that anyone actually gave up a CBS for so little (and it was a stranger). I killed him with extras to make myself feel better about what I thought was a steal.

The OP also sorta made the point I was trying to make when he posted the ISO/FT link on the Coffee, which (to me) makes it seem a little more likely than "highly doubtful". I guess I just wanted to point out that I disagree. FWIW, I still think you're an exemplary BA.

I don't know - I landed a CBS for about that when it was fresh. It's now a 1.5 year old beer with 2 key ingredients that fade over time (maple and coffee). It just doesn't strike me as a crazy deal... CBS was always more hyped as rare than actually rare. It was at the top of the shelf beer food chain for sure, but still a widely distro'd shelf beer. I think the hardest part now about trading for CBS is there are just not many bottles out there, so it's really on the CBS holder suddenly feeling like trading it.

Didn't you know that faded ingredients and taste have nothing to do with trade value! .rar is .rar.
