Anyone have any info on which shops (if any) are getting the westy bricks? Last I heard Shelton was the only US distributor handling it, but only distributing east of the Mississippi.

IIRC Point Blank Distributing is the distributor for Shelton beers. Try giving them a call and see if they know anything. I have heard that PDX will get some, but that was just speculation as far as I was concerned.

Make sure you just get a paycheck when you're ready to buy one.

The price I've heard quoted for a gift pack/brick is $85. I can see where it might be a bit more than that in PDX, but I would still expect the price to be under $100.

After shipping, I paid like $80 for a bottle of each Westvleteren 8 and 12. It was cool to try once but St. Bernardus and Rochefort are not at all far behind and much cheaper.

Westy is good, but not worth the 80 dollars. I know it comes with not just the 12, but I would say anything from Rochefort is much better and wont make as much as a dent in your wallet.

If you have never had Westy, then it might be a fun opportunity, but have fun with the cost.

Bought 1 brick myself, drank one, traded 1, threw 1 in as an extra in a trade and will probably do the same with the last 3. It is the most overhyped beer on Earth of all the BA hyped beers I have had. R10 @ $7.29 is superior in taste, availability, and price. Latter 2 are facts, former my opinion.

    Thanks for clarifying.
I wish some of these would be distributed in Washington, but in the absence of Shelton Bros here I'm not holding my breath (anyone who knows otherwise, please let me know). Would really like to try the 8, as well as a fresh 12. Only 12 I've ever had was 3 or 4 years old and may have been past its prime and/or not stored properly prior to my acquiring it (trade). Generally though I agree w/ evilc, Rochefort 10 is very close.
