Thwaites it seems are trying to make dark beers more easy drinking with this tavern porter

Got one of those stashed somewhere. Sounds good.

Time for my 500th review. I've just opened a bottle of 2011 BCBS :grinning:

Tasty stuff - plenty of bourbon in there, but it's dead smooth and the flavour blend is superb. Makes me wish I had another to age.....

Where did you pick that up out of interest?

Could have been any number of places. There was quite a lot in the country about four months back.

If you're desperate enough, Bitter Virtue in Southampton has both Bourbon County '11 and the vanilla iteration.

Cheers - I'd never seen this lot before!

Good choice of US beers and quite a few you don't see on BOE and the others!

Do they do delivery - can't see any info on the website!?

As it happens I just booked flights for a beercation last week (for this coming Nov) and we have 24 hours in Chicago at the start of it, so may hold off till then.

That said, I had a little play around searching for BCBS in Chicago and a brief search yielded no results!

'Fraid not. I was desperate for a couple of the Pannepot Grand Reservas around Christmas time but no amount of pleading on the phone could sort out a delivery to London.
They have an incredible selection. B.O.E. probably beats them in quantity, but certainly not in quality.

And yeah, judging by all the talk in the main beer forum it would seem Bourbon County is difficult to find even in Illinois and the surrounding states. Godspeed in your quest! At least you'll have access to Three Floyds.

Hey gents. Will soon be cracking open an Innes and Gunn Canada Day 2012 to celebrate, yep, you guessed it, Canada Day. As David Sylvian once said 'Sons of pioneers... are hungry men'.

Pub lunch today, roast beef and as good as it gets. Plus there was Elgood's Black Dog in cracking nick to go with it and NOTHING matches a mild for accompanying food. Pure bliss and to cap it all I wasn't driving
Forgot , slipped into the Manvers Arms last night while waiting for a takeaway , my son and I enjoyed some St Austell's Tribute. Lovely easy drinking stuff, one of my favourite "fine anywhere" brews.
