Stopped by the beer store today to pick up some local beers for a trade. Weyerbacher had been requested by the person that I'm trading with so I was looking and found some Weyerbacher Prophecy on the shelf. I bought one for him and one for me, tried my bottle, thought it was tasty, checked into it on untapped to find that only 40 people have checked into this beer. I googled and found a beer advocate post about it saying it's from like 2005 or something?

Anyway, does anyone know anything about this beer? anyone interested in this beer?

It has been a good 5 or so years for that one, so definitely retired at this point. They did bring Blasphemy back, so you can never say never but you definitely have old bottles. Doubt there is much interest, bottles are very old at this point and were not that great fresh. Guess it would be interesting for your trading partner to get a blast from the past?

Their website still gives it as retired and comments from 2010 indicate no plan to bring it back.

Nice to know what you found was still drinkable.

wow that's crazy. I wonder where it came from. The bottle shop said they got a case of it so I bought a6 pack. the carbonation in the beer was pretty much gone but it still had a good flavor. I could still taste the barrel flavors and a little of the booze. it certainly hasn't gone bad but it also wasn't amazing. They were only $2.50 a bottle so I thought it was worth trying.

Had a bottle two weeks ago. Oxidized to hell and back again, not pleasant.

it must have come from the brewery then, maybe they found some cases and released them to the market? due to pa laws there are only two beer stores in my area that sell single bottles, I've only seen it at one of the stores. it must have been stored properly cause the beer was definitely good. it was very similar to curmudgeon from founders.

@TheScheit - Hey man, I can confirm Weyerbacher has released zero bottles of Prophecy in years. There are zero plans to ever bring that beer back. Source: gratefully employed by Weyerbacher. What store has some? I'd love to try it, as it was retired before my time.
