I think deserves recognition as maybe the best brewer on the planet here's why ...
Insanity, Tiny, Double Simcoe, Slam Dunkel are all world class beers. Insanity is now absolutely (replacing Southern Tier Creme Brûlée) the best smelling beer ive had, imagine the thickest, richest cake batter, then imagine buttered popcorn (real good popcorn) it's so good I may baste tonites chicken with it.

Heresy is real good, Hops Infusion was OK, Fireside Ale is smoky good, their wet hop Harvest Ale was very interesting to say the least, wish I would have saved one for 4 months, fresh the most tea like flavor I've seen in a beer, if you can get Unfiltered Double Simcoe fresh it is mind blowing, and lastly their once brewed recent milk stout was incredible.

That's 10 beers if I count correctly. All done in the beautiful old riverside borough of Easton PA, yea I've been there , but will have to tour the brewery soon. I work right down the road route 22 in eclectic Allentown PA. If one BA reads this and trys a Weyerbacher beer, that's why I posted.

I love Weyerbacher. The day they came to Minnesota was a good one. Double Simcoe really hooked me on IIPAs & Slam Dunkel is one of the best of its style anywhere.

Eagerly waiting for the current doses of Insanity & Heresy to hit the state so I can grab a few.

My only wish is that Weyerbacher would date their bottles. I don't buy as much Double Simcoe as I'd like because I've been burned by a couple of old four-packs.

They did themselves a great disservice by naming their brewery Weyerbacher, and then to add insult to injury they hired the shittiest graphic designer in the world to create their face. And for that, I have probably missed out on some great beers.

Not sure why, but there is a tiny little man who lives within me who says "fuck them"

No doubt they are among the best. Merry Monks is a fantastic beer.

Their labels on the other hand...

I agree with the graphic designer comment, but why hate on the name? It's the historical family name of the owners, if I'm not mistaken.

Weyerbacher rocks. Who gives a shit about about the labels?? It's the brew itself that matters. They, along with Victory, are probably the best brewers here in PA.

Care to elaborate on what is wrong with naming the brewery based on the family name and the way it was spelled in Germany 200 years before the brewery was founded?

The only thing I can think of why a statement like that would be made is that the name "implies" beer of German styles, of which there are very few being made by said brewery. That being said, I'm not here to defend his remarks.

I really like Weyerbacher, but I really hate run-on sentences so this topic leaves me with mixed feelings.
