Good luck trying to read it though.

Gotta hold the bottle up to the light just to try to see the dating. I get all sorts of crazy looks, as if I'm that crazy math professor from Clerks who is trying to find the perfect carton of eggs.

I wish I had more of Thirteen and Fourteen also. Luckily, I was able to score a bottle of Thirteen on a recent business trip to NY. It was the last one, covered in dust, and was pretty expensive...I didn't care. I would kill to have more Fourteen, however, IMO, that one was more enjoyable when it was young.

And when you do find that perfectly dated bottle do you put your pinky up to your lips and do the crazy Dr. Evil laugh?

Best brewery on the planet? I would take Founders, to name one, over Weyerbacher in a heartbeat (not to mention Russian River, maybe Alesmith, Bell's, FW, even Oskar Blues, Lagunitas, etc. etc.). But they are awesome and I can pretty much get them all without a hassle.

I really enjoyed Sixteen (my first braggot), Merry Monk's, Fireside, Imperial Pumpkin, and others. Looking forward to trying my recently purchased Insanity and Heresy too.

Have to add East End, Voodoo, Bullfrog, Selinsgrove, Yards, and Allentown Brewworks. We are fortunate here in PA when it comes to craft breweries and releases.

No, it's a Stripes reference. One of the best Bill Murray movies of all time. ARMY TRAINING SIR!

Ah, okay. It's been way too long since I've seen that movie. In Left 4 Dead, there's a character named Francis who frequently makes comments about hating things (boats, libraries, elevators, etc.). I'd link to one of the amusing compilation videos on YouTube, but my work's ISP blocks it.

What can you tell me about Thirteen? I can't seem to find it listed on here.

Edit: Just found it in the archived beers. Sounds delicious.

Oh yeah, had completely forgotten about that scene. I'll throw this in, to supplement why I was confused:

Their dating is no different than a bunch of other breweries such as Troegs, Founders etc. It's a little tough to read the black writing on a brown bottle, but it's not impossible.

I love a bunch of their stuff, Double Simcoe, Insanity, Heresy and Imperial Pumpkin, but they have some klunkers too like Hops Infusion (they are replacing this very soon) and I'm not a fan of their Harvest either. They do really good stuff, but they are not near the "best on the planet". One other small negative is some of their stuff can be very pricey, especially in keg form.

I saw rapture mentioned twice in this thread with rave reviews. But no one really agreed or commented on that. Is the general consensus that its superb? I was able to get it in a trade without knowing too much about it, is why I ask.

Yep. Rapture is superb. If you got it easily in a trade then you did well.

Awesome. I was up for expanding and giving a trader one of his top wants because of how great the original base trade was that we worked out, so I traded for that blindly in a sense. Glad to hear.

Nice. Give it a try because it won't get any easier to get if you want more. I seem to like anything aged in Pinot Noir barrels.

I like a lot of their stuff, and have no issue with their name or labels, as I usually don't judge books by their cover.

Merry Monks is one of my go-to tripels. ~$11 for a sixer of a pretty good tripel? Yes, please.

Moving Merry Monks to the C&C 750's did wonders for this beer.
I concur with acurtis. Rapture is a damn fine wild ale
