Is there anywhere that they post their deliveries or what's on tap? Tried looking on fb/ Twitter, but haven't found anything. Thanks for the help!

They occasionally post on FB or Twitter when they get a particular new beer in, especially when it's being sold by the bottle at the bar (DC has weird rules about groceries selling singles and bottles over a certain ABV). Otherwise you just need to stop in -- it's the best bottle shop in DC, you won't be disappointed.

When a place has that kind of reputation and foot traffic, there's very little upside to posting on social media when they get (12) bottles of something. That's one or two for people that work there, then 10 people get bottles, then how many people who saw it on FB will show up and be disappointed? It would also increase the amount of phone calls asking "is xyz still available? limit?" which I'm sure are already out of control.

I love off the metro/not near offices bottle shops posting incoming stuff, but this wouldn't help WFM P ST's business/ bottom line.

Beermenus.com is also not as easy to update as you might think, especially with all of the growler fills etc. It is very spotty updating your draft lists on iPhone (it suggests beers to reduce duplicates on computer with a dropbox, which doesn't always work on mobile).

This has never been my experience, its a good bottle shop but its not that big and I've been disappointed more times than not. I didn't know there was a bar with bottles behind it though, so maybe I'm doing it wrong. I think the shops in NW have better selections though.

Which NW shops are you talking about? I agree that there are some with a bigger selection, but in terms of overall quality and consistently getting in limited releases, I think they're the best in DC.

The reality is they have a lot of demand, and the hyped up and/or limited stuff gets in and disappears usually quickly unless you happen to be around. They get a varied amount of stuff but the stock changes incredibly fast. Blink and you'll miss it.

However, they have easily one of the best varieties anywhere.

I think most or all of those beers listed just above were in stock before Xmas and are now long gone.

Really wish the one in Foggy Bottom were half as good as P Street. Used to be decent, but their beer guy left and I don't think they ever replaced him.

Yeah, my buddy dropped by and didn't see any of those. He did pick up a few bottles of MBC Lunch dated 12/23.

I saw both FW 18 and Ithaca 17 there today around noon, along with many non-numbered beers.

It still is more than decent, just not on the limited stuff. And I hate the way they have the selection bifurcated on two floors.

But yeah, it's no P Street for sure.

I remember the young kid once... once... who did work there but he went back to Cali/Oregon?... he was a good egg and knew his stuff. I also didn't mind dropping by the place once in awhile cause it offered singles of 12oz often of beers in 6 packs I wanted to try. Then of course he left... I still drop by if I am in the area and grab a 12oz of something I want to try if there is something good, but it's pretty slim pickings. I never bother even asking for stuff cause what's the point there is no one around there who knows anything.

The times I walk in there... often during lunch or afternoon... the beer guy... I have no idea who it is... or who even does it now... man...

I do remember one time I did see some employee I never seen before stocking the beer department shelves, obviously some sap who got stuck with the task. There was little of anything interesting in the singles, but then I saw plenty of 6 packs of Narraganset Bohemian Pils that I wanted to try.

I asked the guy, hey can you break up the six pack and I'll buy one from you. I really want to try that beer.

The friggin guy actually said to me... no you can only buy singles of the items that are singled out on the shelf.

    ?

What?! I am saying to myself... so I then say.

So you can't break that 6 pack up for me and sell me one ( for 1.49 or 2 dollars and mark up the other 5 and put them on the shelf)? I ask him. Kind of like what you do with MANY OF THE OTHER BEERS IN THIS STORE YA KNOW???? hint hint !?!?!?

he says... no... and then just walks away.

THe other guy who USED TO WORK THERE would DO THIS FOR ME.....

Basically this lazy jack ass didn't do this, because it would... ya know... involve... work... or something... not that perhaps Whole Foods Foggy Bottom wants to make a sale or something...nah... couldn't be.

The place is filled with nothing but GWU students and it's a zoo anyway and the selection is pitiful. It gets basically what the P street WF's gets in about 10% allocation when you look at the shelves. If I am in the area I will look and spend maybe 10 minutes tops, but I never go out of my way to shop there ever anymore.

Yeah, Eric was his name. I think he moved to SF. He knew his shit, got good stuff and sent out emails to his regular customers. Place used to be a great for me since I walk past there 2x a day.

I don't like that either. I never go downstairs anymore, all the new stuff seems to go upstairs.

Sometimes it's good. For example, they had bottles of Silent Night sitting around for a LONG time, just recently sold out.
