I'm going to be in Belgium in May (landing in Brussels on May 3rd) and would like to put together a good tasting, if there's any interest. I'm thinking May 4th or 5th in Brussels.

I can bring things like Perennial Barrel Aged Abraxas, Coffee Abraxas, Maman, Hill Farmstead Blueberry Flora, various Side Project things, Alesmith Barrel Aged Vietnamese Speedway Stout, Allagash Coolships, Ithaca Brute, Russian River Beatification, and more.

I'd ideally like to get approximately 8 people all bringing similar quality bottles. Let me know if there is any interest.

If you want to move your gathering over to Bremen, Germany, I'd be happy to join!

I would assume primarily Belgian based on the area, but am open to anything of that caliber.

I like the idea but not sure yet what to expect and to bring. Will try to keep date open for now.

8 people and how many bottles does each has to bring with him? And you planning this in a bar to do?

I haven't figured out the particulars yet, but I'm thinking around 2 or 3 bottles per person (more if you want to share more). I'll probably bring 5 or 6 to share. I'm tentatively planning to host this in my hotel lobby, but will have to figure out where I'm staying and if they're ok with that.

I'm also open to suggestions if anyone has ideas for a venue.

Will you post back here closer to your date/s? My schedule is way too unpredictable for May but I would love to unearth some neglected treasures from the cellar. Even less predictable than schedule would be my ability to host, but a private venue might be easier for laying out snack and glassware. And couches for overwhelmed people to lie down on and get their heads together.

If it doesn't need to be in Brussels, I normally can arrange my workplace. Nice kitchen that can accomodate 20 persons. We can sit outside if the weather allows it. Inside a former abbey. Water free of charge, can arrange coffee/coke/etc for a small cost. Some shelve beers available as well (duvel, leffe, stella, broeder jacob). 50 meters from a bar where they serve around a 100 belgian beers. No staying overnight though :stuck_out_tongue:
Location is close to Leuven, 30 minutes drive from Brussels. Bus 15 minutes from Leuven Station.
Let me know if this is reasonable.

Quintessence is on the 5th so there will probably be multiple tasting events. I'm planning on bringing some beers as well.

Hi everyone. I have been very busy with life and should have started coordinating earlier, but would still like to do this if there is interest. The night that works for me is Wednesday, May 4th. I do not have a venue and would appreciate someone being able to host. My flight leaves Monday, so this will need to be finalized before then.

I can bring any of the following beers, and would like others who want to participate to bring similar quality bottles. I would like to try some of the rarer lambic options that rarely make it to the States. I will plan to bring 4-6 bottles, depending on interest.
    • Perennial Barrel Aged Abraxas
    • Perennial Abraxas
    • Perenniam Maman
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Stout
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Rare
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Regal Rye
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Backyard Rye
    • Hill Farmstead Blueberry Flora
    • Alesmith Barrel Aged Vietnamese Speedway Stout
    • Central Waters Black Gold
    • Side Project Saison du Fermier
    • Side Project Abricot du Fermier
    • Side Project Fencerow
    • Side Project Balaton
    • Side Project Blanc de Blancs
    • Russian River Beatification
    • Allagash Ghoulship
    • Allagash Coolship Resurgam
    • Allagash Coolship Cerise

Darn, didnt knew this was still on, would have set aside some goodies. Bit low on lambics right now, have some mixed things left, see selection below.

Wednesday is not possible, tuesday or Thursday (after quintessence) would probably work.

About hosting, my work place is still a posibility. Fully equipped kitchen, toilets, free drinks and coffee. 30 minutes train from brussels to leuven station, from there i could drive back and forth (only 5 minutes).

    List of stuff:
    Fou 13/14
    Lpg 10
    Viggie
    Golden blend
    Black mes
    Double black
    Westy xii
Bourbon county variants (bramble Backyard prop vanilla og rye reg)
    Bruery stouts
    Dark lord vintages
    Last snow
    Pallet 3 4
    Endless nameless
    Parabola

For the right set of beer(s) could also toss in a sr71.
