What a great beer day....

...in the car?

 

Wait what? Though in my younger days, I enjoyed a road rocket now and again, I did wait until I was safely home and had proper glassware (it was the glassware that made the difference )

 

I have often refrained from drinking while driving because of inadequate access to my oversized thistle.

 

I went on a weekend hunting trip with my dad to southern IL a couple weeks after BCBS was released this past year. I missed out on the release morning and it was sold out everywhere around my house. I popped into a small liquor store and they happened to have a nice craft beer section. The manager asked if I was looking for anything in particular, I asked if they had any Sculpin since I hadn't tried it yet. Ended up with a sixer of Sculpin, a bomber of Victory at Sea and a 4pack of 2012 Curmudgeon. As I was ringing out, the manager asked if I saw the BCBS in the corner. I hadn't, and couldn't believe they still had 3 cases left. I ended up just buying one 4pack. We talked beer for a minute (while my dad looked on smirking) and said he just got back from Florida. I asked if tried any Jai Alai while he was down there, and he said yeah, he even brought some back. He walked into the back office and grabbed a can and put it in my box with the rest of my beer. Said to enjoy it! I'll probably never make it back down to that shop, but if I do, I'll definitely stop by again.
