I live in Oregon and absolutely love a stout on a cold evening. As much as I love stouts however, I have noticed the prevalence of coffee, smokey, and more earthy flavors in the style. I recently had the Anderson Valley Oatmeal stout and loved its sweet and creamy flavor. What are some other similarly flavored stouts that I could find in stores such as Roth's, New Seasons etc?

I'm including some chocolate stouts in this list because they tend to be on the sweeter side of the stout spectrum (Bison being a big exception), but you can ignore them if for some reason you don't like chocolate beer. All of these should be available around Portland, at least at the bottle shops.

    Airways Chocolate Stout
Alameda Love Squirts (horrible name for a decent chocolate strawberry stout)
    Against the Grain 35K
    Base Camp Smore's
Belhaven Black (in nitro cans for extra creaminess)
    Crooked Fence Augustus
Dieu de Ciel Aphrodite and Peche Mortel
    Evil Twin Soft DK
    Firestone Velvet Merlin
    Hitachino Sweet Stout
Iron Horse Cozy Sweater Milk Stout
    Iron Horse Mocha Death
    Oakshire Overcast
Rogue Chocolate Stout and Double Chocolate Stout
    Sam Smith's Chocolate Stout
    Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout
    Stone Coffee Milk Stout
    Trinity Chocolate River
    Woodland Cozy Up
    Youngs Double Chocolate Stout

You have to cross the river to get it, but Left Hand Milk Stout is widely available in Washington.

I'd add Ninkasi Oatis to that, along with Denali Chuli stout, if that's available in Oregon. No Left Hand there? Their milk stout is a really good beer for a cold winter night.

A fair number of creamy porters, too.

Haven't had AV Oatmeal Stout, but now that Fremont is in your state, I'd try to hunt down Dark Star. Super smooth and creamy...at least I happen to think so.

I never thought I would recommend someone Rogue beers, but Shakespear Stout from them is creamy
