What are the better Watermelon beers?

Hooker watermelon is rancid. It tastes so fake I can feel the cancer cells going down. I'll never touch that nasty stuff again.
21st amendment is palatable but just make your own with summerfest and a fresh slice of watermelon

 

This. Had it side by side with 21st amendment, and it was more flavorful and tasted less "fake" but more watermelon-y. solid.

 

Hell, they don't even make it THROUGHOUT SC, much less OUT of. :-(

Just had to go there didn't you? Truth be told, it prevents venereal disease cause chicks don't dig guys who drink watermelon beer.

 

I like 21st Amendment. They don't go overboard with the watermelon.

I think it's blue hills that does a wampatuck watermelon wheat. Up there with 21st.

Had the Opa Opa version at a BBQ this week. Not bad. I enjoy Hell or High Watermelon on a hot summer day too.

Watermelon is one of my favorite fruits and I think when done well, there are good ways to mix it with beer. The best kind to me have an almost rindy taste to it.

 

Sorry, can't help. Never had one. But, beer is beer and watermelons are watermelons, and I can't see a reason for mixing them. As you might have guessed, I'm not a big fan of fruit beers.

 

Save for the Lambic style, I'm always leery of these types of beers. I've had some that add just a hint or just enough and it's fine, but more often than not these types of beers make me cringe. It gives a seat at the bar to those who don't like the taste of beer...fine there are plenty of other things for you to enjoy, mixed drinks, wine, wine coolers, spritzers, appletini's, massengill, whatever floats your boat, just stop trying to turn the non-beer drinker because it just leads the macros into creating frankenbeers like Michelob Ultra Pomegranate Raspberry.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 21st Amendment one of the only watermelon beers that uses fresh watermelon juice rather than some sort of watermelon syrup or concentrate?

 

yeah. This is the only one I've had as well and it was decent if not refreshing.
